Looking for a spacer lift and a store online that will ship next day delivery

Nah, it's the same kit. Pretty sure on the box that I got it said 4Runner/FJ Cruiser on it.

Same platform/chassis/suspension more or less. Plus it's spacers. Nothing complicated about these.

Cool Thanks.

I am super excited about getting these installed. The rake just kills me everytime I look at the 4Runner and at times made me almost hate it. lol. At times I miss my old Land Rover Discovery 2 but I dont miss the cost that came with owning it. That Discovery 2 has been my favorite vehicle I ever owned and the go anywhere kind of vehicle and plus it looked just european utilitarian off road sweet. I miss it and of course I love the Land Rover Defender 110. Hopefully I can build my 4Runner to love it just as much too. I do love that the 4Runner is more dependable and once I take care of this rake will look pretty darn sweet. lol

What tools are needed for the lift? trying to gt myself ready before it arrives tomorrow.

Someone mentioned on one site about needing a Pitman arm puller, ball joint puller or tie rod end puller. Also a Handheld coil spring/strut compressor pair. *I could not imagine this would really be needed to do the job or would it? I thought it would be as simple as unbolting a few things and pulling the strut with the coil still attached.

Can someone tell me what is needed to do the job?

My 4Runner does not have Xreas and is a SR5.

BTW does anyone know of a thread or any place that has a good step by step instructions and possibly photos?

Thanks

You don't need any specialty tools. No pullers, no spring compressors. Just a jack, some stands and some hand tools.

There are a few write-ups here I think, but you'll have to search for them. I found the instructions that came with the kit to be sufficient. I said sufficient, not great.

For some reason it seems these steps are a little further out there then what I need. But I could be wrong.

There a few extras in that tutorial. It includes spacing the bump stop and diff spacers. Better more details then less details.

I get confused more by more details that are not always needed. lol.

I looked in the Suspension FAQ thread and found the write up by Bulldog but his 4Runner had the XREAS. Is there a good write up with pics for 4Runner's without XREAS? I just dont need anything that is going to confuse the heck out of me. lol. I just need a good clean walk through.

The procedure isn't any different without xreas. Use this for the front, easiest method I've found.

Thank you so very much this photo "HELPS A LOT" :frog:

I have been dreading doing this but now this makes it look so much easier. :D

My only problem now that I can think of is I do have a lot of rust underneath the 4Runner due to salt in the north where the vehicle spent most of it's life in the hands of the original owner. "If" I were to run into an issue with a bolt that will not come out any thoughts to what I should do? I have two cans of PB Blaster lol and I am not sure if this would be the trick or not. lol.

BTW any pics or a diagram pic for the rear like you sent me for the front? That pic is worth a thousand words honestly and again Thank you lots. :D

You're welcome. That link is actually in the suspension FAQ thread, it's the main one I was referring to (couldn't post a link from my phone). I'm not aware of anything like that for the rear. However, the rear is more simple than the front and pretty straightforward.

Just received the Daystar lift in the mail. Everything looks good to go and will be putting it on with a friend to help this evening in his garage with heat and beer. lol. I will try my best to get before pictures and just not after pictures. I'm super excited and a little nervous but it seems not to hard honestly.

I noticed when looking through the box and papers it only came with instructions to lift the front and not the rear but I would assume the rear will be comin sense once you do the front. lol.

A big thank you to everyone for the links and everything to help me out here. Will post pics soon.

Nice! It's the wrong outlook though... Don't be nervous buddy. Trust in your own abilities. Challenge yourself. Look at every job as a opportunity to learn. Enjoy the feeling of accomplishment after completing the job and tell yourself, "I can't believe that shops charge that much for that job!"... and if you do eff something up... You can still chalk that up to a lesson learned :)

I'm pretty sure mine had rear instruction in it as well. Don't look like you got a full set of instructions, but the rear is super simple.

Good luck with the install and you've got guys here to help you out if you get stuck. Enjoy the wrench time! It's usually therapeutic... Until you run into an issue, then you feel like throwing those wrenches, hahahaha!

Wish I had a photo of what nuts/bolts to take off on the rear to slide the rear spring out. Last thing I want is a spring to hit me since I wont be using spring compressors. Do you or anyone have a diagram showing the rear bolts that need to be taken out or loosend to take the rear spring out? Thanks

Oh, I'd forgot to mention since I saw you'd mentioned rust in an earlier post. You wanted to start soaking all of the hardware in PB Blaster yesterday. Unfortunately for you, if you didn't know which hardware you needed to remove, you didn't know what you needed to soak. So go out there and do it now!

You're rear spring isn't gonna hit you because once you jack the rear of the truck up (by the frame), and let the rear axle droop out, the suspension won't be loaded. I have two floor jacks, so what I did was actually jack the entire rear up by the hitch receiver tube with one and support the rear axle by the pumpkin with the other jack. This allowed me to manipulate (raise and lower) the position of the rear axle with my 2nd jack. But you only need to unbolt your lower shock mount bolt to let the axle drop out. It's the one that hooks the shock to the axle. You can get more play if you need it by unbolting the rear sway bar. Hope that helps.

Well right now I cant actually PB Blast the bolts because I would have to take the tires off to do so and I live right next to the road or my house is so I have no place to do this. I would have to wait till I get to my friends garage. Once I get to his garage how long will I need to let the PB Blaster soak?

The longer the better with that stuff, but just blast it and try it. If it doesn't want to budge, don't force it too much, just blast it again and let it soak a little... Come back and try it again a little later. Rinse and repeat. I, fortunately, don't have to deal with the crap that you "rust" guys have to.

Yeah rust is for sure an issue. I bought my vehicle when I lived in Tennessee but the vehicle was from upper state New York and that should have been a sign for me but poor me didnt think about it. lol. When I replaced my transmission cooler lines last week because of rust I had to remove the front skid plate and its rusted all to hell and will need to be replaced as well as the rest of the skid plates. But I would imagine the other bolts I will be taking off for the suspension will be much more durable and solid I guess. I hope there is no chance is stripping the head on a bolt or anything of that sort.

Do you know all the sockets and wrenches needed for this job? Just want to double check I have them all. lol.

BTW am I able to PB Blast them without taking the tires off? If so I can do this right quick.
