looking for discontinued part!! please help

Please help mee! I want to remove the running boards off my 1997 4runner SR5 Limited but the front flares need an extended mud guard / flap. I can find the passengers side on almost every parts website, but the drivers side is always discontinued. Is there any website someone knows of? or maybe has this part? PLEASE HELP!

sorry but get in line. All of us want these and almost none can be found. The Passenger side is available at some dealers, but zero drivers side flaps.
 
For the time being, just cut the front flair section of the floor board to leave enough to fill in. This is what I did on mine, and will probably just leave it this way, and spray bed liner on it later to match the flares.

good luck, i wouldnt even sell a drivers side for that, they are like $80 brand new when you could get a set, and your only want to pay $20 over that for one of the most desired parts... oh your a newb lol

yeah man just keep looking for wrecked runners, maybe one day you will spot one that has the all elusive drivers mudguard but until then your probably not gonna find one on this forum sorry

Did you actually place an order? Your 4Runner doesn't look like it has the black SR5 flares. Tons of part sites have this part listed but when you actually add it to your cart and pay they will send you a message saying that they cannot order the part.

I had a guy call up Southeast Toyota Distributors. They told him that this part is long gone and that once Toyota discontinues a part, it's gone forever.
 
Glad I found this thread. I'd like to do the same thing. Does no one make these in the aftermarket arena?

Just curious. I haven't looked at all. Dont flame the newb.

i will let you guys know, i just ordered them and will be waiting to see what i do or do not get
 
You will not get them. Spoke to those guys and over 15 other places. Zero drivers side in stock anywhere. Long gone. Many sites show stock but dont actually have the parts

nobody make the mudguard other than toyota... and they have been discontinued for at several years... people have been looking for these for a long time, and within the last couple of years it seams no body can get a hold of them unless they take them off of a truck that already has them on it.
 
hell if i could get 100 people to put a deposit on the thing id looking into building a mold to reproduce them and could probably do it for oem cost
