Yes, please do. My weatherstripping is starting to get rough on the bottoms of the doors!
Yeah, mine in the same place. Anybody got any ideas?

Guys, I completely understand your want for a better alternative... but this is just one of those things that's just best kept OEM.
Take it from someone whose had to go through multiple aftermarket door strippings/carpets/interior parts for a 92... OEM guarantees a perfect fit and function.
You can always try, but from my experience, it's never a perfect OEM replacement. There's always something wrong.
This is definitely a case of, "You get what you pay for."

Very true, I was hoping someone had a good idea where to get some OEM seals for cheaper than the stealership.

Has anyone else found some place for OEM weather stripping besides the dealership? Anyway to save money would be appreciated.
The price for those things almost include body parts on the price tag. The other day when I was asking about the pieces that go across the bottom of the window and figured I would just deal with it and keep my left nut. I asked the stealership how much it would be for a new engine, $14000. Soon as the guy behind the computer saw that "holy f##k" out loud to everyone. They wanted $45 for a pulley that I was able to get for $2 at the junk yard. If I cant find it somewhere else and cant make it my self I only go to them when she needs it to function.

After much thought and investigation on replacing my drivers door seal, the seal that goes around the frame of the door on the body, mine was in pretty bad shape. I found the seal at a local junk yard but it was the passenger side. So for $45 I took the chance and can attest that third generation forerunner weather seals are interchangeable from driver side to passenger side. As usual the drivers side at the junkyard was in horrible shape. Just thought someone would like to know.

Has anyone tried mcmaster or trimlok? Trimlok sells by bulk but mcmaster sells 20/50/100 etc

As in you were able to put a front passenger seal on the driver side? They are different part numbers for L/RH but that would be handy to know.

worked fine for me yes.
I think I ended up putting just a couple of spots of 3M 08612 Windo Weld Round Ribbon Sealer into the grove. it will have the memory for the passenger side and it resisted during install but once I put the window weld into the grove it stayed in place.
the passenger door and driver door opening are the exact same size.
this is that nasty stuff that never dries out... the liner on the inside of the doors that holds the plastic sheeting on. also never comes off your fingers or clothes or anything it comes into contact and probably causes cancer and birth defects. but it sticks stuff together forever.

Yup, I did this with my Civic. I went to the junkyard to fish a door seal as the old driver side seal was ripped and torn. I get there and snag a used seal but from the passenger door. I put in on the driver side door and there was no issues! There should be no problem doing this to the 4Runner.
