Looking for GOOD auto transport company.

Just purchased my daughter a used Honda Accord and need to have it shipped to Michigan from central Texas. Anyone have any good feedback on a company that ships cars? I contracted with a company I found on the web but I'm starting to think I might have made a mistake since the dude won't answer my e-mails or return phone calls. They appeared legit with BBB banners all over the website so I gave them a shot. Now I'm having second thoughts.

I used them the last time I bought a car at a Barrett Jackson auction in Palm Beach Florida...shipped a '69 Z-28 from Palm Beach to me in Raleigh NC - decent service, car arrived just fine.

B-J auctions currently only 'recommend' 2 carriers, the one above, and FedEx as another poster recommended:

I would take a mini vacation fly to Texas and drive home.............easy. do it without anyone knowing.........your daughter will be impressed.....!!

Not a bad idea....but....my wife is deployed for a year and I've got my hands full here at home.

I Used momentumtransport.com to ship my daughters car to California from Texas and back after she discovered it wasn't the promised land. They did a good job and fair priced.Shop closely there are some Snakes out there.

get a hold of Berry, aka "Bear" on TTORA. he's a moderator on that board and he's doing vehicle transport full time, and he does the driving. you will be in good hands.

This is true! I learned this the hard way when I bought a new boat from out of state.

Many car dealers have retired guys that do this piecemeal - you might find one to do this.

Get proof of insurance whomever you chose.

What these guys do is string you along with quotes and promises, hoping to backhaul you, or fronthaul you along with another job. This is common practise for transporters. That you don't hear back is indicative that so far you are only half a trip for him, which doesn't pay well. The next thing happens is, if he fills the other half of the trip, he'll be on you like white on rice for a deposit.
