looking for help

I'll be honest. . I've lurked this forum for sometime..

I'm in the market to get a 4runner and I think I finally found one that will suit my needs.
2001 runner 4x4 with auto trans (which I'd rather have a 5 spd but can't find one for the life of me)
Has 133k on it. Looks as if it was well cared for has most service records.

It's $5800.. which does leave me a bit concerned buyING a vehicle with that many miles on it.

I'm looking to lift it a bit and use it as a daily driver / some thing to haul kayaks and get to fishing spots here on the coast.

I've looked into other suv's xterra, rodeo, etc. I'm just not sure they have the reliability that the runner may offer.
Anyone think it's a good idea to get it?

133k really isn't that much.
Just knowing the mileage isn't enough to tell you if it's worth buying.

Depending on where you are that price for that mileage is not bad at all. Make sure you read through the 3rd gen buyers guide.

I wouldn't think twice about 133k as long as everything else checks out. With the 3rd gen 4runner you can pretty much divide the mileage by 3 for comparing it to other vehicles.

But again, as long as it's been taken care of.

After seeing it and driving it I had some concerns. It smells like it is burning oil.... and the mechanics note said that it failed thr brake fluid test? I'm not sure this is the right one... sad but back to the search. Thanks guys for the input
