Looking for Input- KDSS with Lift

No, I have 5100 adjustable front set @ 1.75. Stock spring and everyting else in front, no front spacer. My rear has 5100's with conrfed 1" rear coil spring spacers on stock springs, the rear driver spacer is 0.200" taller to compensate for driver sidelean. Its works prefect, no drivers side lean.

Do you mind posting a pic?

Here you go.

Hey Guys, trading in my 2010 Limited and debating between TRD Pro or TEP w/KDSS.

I would prefer a lifted 4R for various reasons and I'm looking for input from those who have already lifted their KDSS equipped vehicles. I've read the various threads on what the lift does to the KDSS system and what additional parts may or may not be required depending on total height lifted. If you do you have KDSS and a lift I would very much appreciate your insights, items such as the following of specific importance:

- Lift specs. Height, parts used, vendor. Did you use a leveling kit for the passenger side?

- On-road handling after lift? *Very important* to me as this is my main reason for considering KDSS.

- Durability after lift. Do you feel any sense of issue with the KDSS system or other suspension components? Mostly concerned in reference to this post by 05Rrunner who is extremely knowledgeable in this space- http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/183732-possible-add-trd-pro-suspension-6.html#post2189543

Any and all reviews you can provide are very much appreciated. I have had a hard time getting quality information from my dealer and unbiased opinions from vendors. That's where I trust this forum and the knowledgeable group on it to provide guidance.

thanks
Kris

Personally, I love the way the truck handles with KDSS.

Before lifting i too went through the many threads talking about lifts and KDSS, but in the end now that i personally own the setup i'm glad i went with KDSS.

Overall truck handles great. Stock suspension will always be softer than lifted but its not much harsher with a lift. If anything truck feels more planted and sturdy on washboard type roads.

If your biggest want is on road handling after lift, get KDSS. its a dream to drive on road. For a truck being lifted and on 33s i was so used to body roll on my previous trucks that i was surprised to see how well KDSS keeps the truck flat around corners. Dont get me wrong, i dont drive racecar style with it around corners but just the normal driving you can definitely tell the difference.

To answer your question on durability, i dont see anything i need to worry about after lifting. Ive taken it through its paces offroad and havent seen/heard any of the issues related to the KDSS system bottoming out.

Best of luck with your decision

Awesome, thank you. My Limited has the Toyotech Ultimate (3/2) lift but just does not handle well on road. My other car is an E92 M3 with COs and lots of upgrades which is super planted. The 4R just feels like it's always trying to rollover in corners, especially off-camber ones. Literally scares the shit out of me on a regular basis and I've been tracking my M3 for 5yrs. I know removing XREAS was part of the issue but even after doing a zero point calibration I still experience the 4R engaging traction control in corners all the time. I'm probably driving it like an M3 which is clearly not a good idea but I get the feeling KDSS and a shorter lift will go a long way

You'll definitely want leather.

I have toytec ultimate lift and total chaos UCA. The UCA were a deal breaker with me, easier to get back to factory spec alignment and still have full wheel travel if needed. No issues with KDSS and the biggest plus of the lift was the nose dive when breaking is gone. Its a dream to drive and wouldn't do it any other way. KDSS is a huge advantage to on/off road driving vs non KDSS.. You won't be disappointed.
