OK, so here's the deal- I've been stashing money for a long time so I can re-gear and retro fit an e-locker. So I start shopping around and find out that I will have to order a new carrier for the front to accommodate the larger gear. The new carrier costs $365, or I can step up and get the ARB for the front and spend $1200. I had planned on spending the $800 on other things- new trailing arms, extending brake lines, stuff like that. So what would you do? I don't know that I really need to lock the front, but I'm wondering if I should do it while it's tore apart. I don't know if I can't decide what to do because I've been squirreling money away for so long, or if I've answered my own question by coming here and asking you guys. Mostly hoping you tell me to just do it. haha.

So do I ARB the front, or do the other stuff?? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Sounds to me that if you're squirreling money away and saving up for stuff, then money is key factor here. An extra $800 for something that you're not sure you even need is deal breaker to me. Having a fully locked rig is awesome, but only if you're going to use it.
I say use the money for the other things that you definitely want.

A rear locker will get you a lot of places. Unless you're going to build your 4runner up to be a dedicated off-road truck, I would just go with your original plan of the rear locker and other misc upgrades you want.

Went for a little ride this morning. Forgot the GoPro so I had my wife shoot some video with the phone. It's horrible, but it's an example of one of the easier trails we run. https://youtu.be/fVYxRXhU5GE
So, I think I've decided to go ahead and just put the ARB in the front. I'd rather not have to tear it apart again later if I would decide to do it later. All of the other things are easily replaced external things so it will be a lot easier to do them as I get the money for them. I've got a few things to sell so it may not take me as long to get the money for them- JAOS brush guard and some other stuff.
Also, we just recently bought a Highlander so the 4Runner can be more of a dedicated rig now instead of a daily driver. Thanks for you input techno and Storm Runner.
