Looking For Some Wheel Buying Help

So I'm getting close to bumping up to 33's and figured I'd switch up wheels at the same time. As with everything I buy, my wheel choices are budget minded, so no SCS or new wheels for my unfortunately at this time. All of these wheels are roughly within $50 so that's not a big issue. I most likely will not be keeping my LX450 wheels because I'm looking for a change and to repaint them it would be kind of a pain with the chrome underneath. I'm kind of torn and a second opinion always helps. Sorry for the lame thread.

16x8 4.5 BS
They are the same as my LX, but are in better shape and can be painted easier. Cheapest of the bunch.

Eagle Alloy 185

A little chipped, but can easily be touched up. I've thought of painting the outer ring black or Sunfire Red. These have the least backspacing which is swaying me more towards them and can probably fit the 231mm Tundra's with no spacers.

I like these a lot, but there kind of a shot in the dark. I'm not 100% sure on the BS and they might not fit the Tundra brakes. Also there is no info on them, so finding a 5th (if I get a tire carrier) will be near impossible. I will have to paint these as well.

I'll probably pull the trigger on one of them in the next day or so. Thanks!

Option 2. Eagle Alloys and definitely paint the ring sunfire red to match. Would look sweet!

Out of your 3 options I say lc80s. Not only are they tough as hell they're also very light. Dunno much about the other 2. I can say the steel wheels are probably going to be heavier for sure. Honestly. Just paint your lx450 wheels. You can scuff up the chrome enough for paint to stick.. You take your truck offroad anyways so no matter what wheel you get and paint you'll be touching them up regardless. That's kinda why I haven't painted mine.

I would actually choose the third option. I saw those posted in the aftermarket wheel thread, and they really caught my eye. I think a multi-spoke wheel looks great on our 3rd gens, especially with a deep lip like those have. Plus, they're something that you don't see often. And you basically have a fresh start color wise...you could go graphite, silver with a red lip, black, etc...

I'm leaning towards that since it will have the best backspacing and be a bit unique.

All the wheels are alloys, I wouldn't go with a steel wheel due to weight. The problem is they are bubbling a bit and I used plasti-dip as my base coats. It'd take some work and it still leaves me with getting spacers for the Tundra brakes. I love my LX's, but they will be the most work out of them all and I was kind of hoping to sell my BFG's and LX's as a package. I'm still debating it, but not 100% sure yet.

Ha, it took me months to finally choose the wheels and tires I ended up with. Its definitely no easy task. I know you said you didn't want to buy new wheels, but Discount Tire Direct has them pretty cheap, and they usually make you a deal if you're ready to buy...just thought I'd throw that out there.

Haha, they look like your Pro Comps, so I was hesitant to get them before. Now that you sold your 4runner, game on!

They will be the cheapest option for sure. Depending on what happens with J.B. I may just go with the Eagles.

I say go with the LC-80 and paint satin black.

The alloys with a red lip will look too "high school" in my opinion. Whereas the LC-80s in black will look clean and OEM.

I'd say you put #1 as #1 for a reason... Go with the LC wheels. You know the offset works for 33s, and it'd leave you more money for tires and other mods.

What look are you going for, btw? Stock, modified, extreme, bro? Might help steer the thread.

But honestly, I have great aspirations and my two limitations are time and cash. Can't do much about the first, but I can choose to go with the lowest priced non-compromise I could.

If you MUST paint wheels first, don't forget o factor that in!

Well I made my decision....I went with option #2 the Eagle's. I just liked that I didn't have to paint and the BS was right. So I bought them and they are being shipped.














and that lasted 1 day :eyebrows: ...I ended up finding a smoking deal on Craigslist for 4 BFG AT 285/75/16's (with 95% tread) mounted on Raceline Renegade 6 Matte Black wheels. I love those wheels and tires combo and the best part is that they were only $600. I can't believe the deal and I'm so pumped to get them. I'm having a TW member pick them up for me and I should have them mounted Sunday. It's a bit more than I wanted to spend, but I couldn't pass the deal up. I should come close out even after selling my current set up, the extra 285's in my back yard and the Eagles. :llama:
