Looking For Wiring Diagram - 2002 Stereo Head Unit

Howdy!

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I am looking for the EWD for a 2002 Limited head unit, with amp (premium audio). I'm tracking down a bad ground, testing for continuity etc. I'm thinking the head unit is bad as the chassis is grounding to the dash plate and sparking when I put the mounting bolts into the head unit to attach it to the dash. The connector going into the amp tests at 11-9v on pwr/grnd, and the connector coming from the amp to the head unit tests at 11-9v as well. I'm not getting any continuity inside the head unit but I'm not sure I'm testing the correct pins.

Any help is extremely appreciated. If someone can point me to the correct diagram I would be eternally grateful. Hell, even pointing me to the correction junctions to test continuity would be helpful, I believe there's 2.

If only I still had access to TechStream... life was simpler then.

check here for wiring diagrams, I'm not familiar with the different radios so not totally sure this will cover it but it seems to match my 2001- 96-02 Toyota 4Runner Factory Service Repair Manual

The pinouts between the dash harness and amp are the same as almost every other Toyota of that era, nothing special there. There isn't a ton of information in the diagrams for what goes on between the amp and the head unit since they are generally considered one component.

Time for a new head unit, it sounds like...

…and if you go for a new head unit, rip out the premium audio amp. It’s in there to make the low end speakers sound passable. A new head unit and speakers make it irrelevant (plus, it’ll make your new speakers sound bad).
