Looking to add exhaust tip

but i would suggest gettin a new muffler to change the sound as well. because then it will mean something, not just for looks

Thanks guys, but I was looking for an exhaust tip for cosmetic reasons.

I would be all over these upgrade options for exhaust systerms if I had the money for it.

yea getting a new tip isnt going to change the sound, just the looks. Id go with a flowmaster 40 series or so. This is the tip i have on mine:

hey, that looks great on yours...but i dont have the chrome bumpers, so i dont know if i would do it or not. i have the dersert dune metallic silver with the grey bumpers...so i dont know if i should get the exhaust tip or not. id like it, but not sure if it looks right on it.

just thought I would see more people wheeling then adding diff interior lights and exhaust tips and chrome...

People do things to their vehicles for different reasons whether it's functional or for aesthetics, or whatever. Their money so I couldn't care less, it's their choice and whatever they want to do. Whether it's pointless or not is subjective and relative. I do stuff to my trucks and don't give a flying rat's ass what anyone thinks. They don't like it, no love lost, don't care, life goes on. They don't pay my bills, so again I don't give a rat's ass.

Go ahead and get your tip on and be happy about it. :bigok:

And a good number of people here DO GO WHEELING in their runners AND add diff interior lights and exhaust tips and chrome...

I added diff interior lights, chrome side steps, and I go wheelin' every other weekend. It's just something people like to do. There's no reason to bash them for it.

i agree with you, to each their own...so let them be. im not a fan of a lowered rig, but if thats what someone else likes, then all my respects to them.

Usually the ones that talk the most crap are the one's who drive the grandma looking 4runners.Talking about how they wheel and all this sh*t.So some people want their rides to look better than stock so what who are you to make fun of them.You talk about how you like to wheel well if you really offroad then you would know you have to do better than stock.

I taped off the bumper and spray painted my run-down looking exhaust tip flat black (along w/ the tow hitch).

carbon fiber antenna! Carbon fiber dash kit, 26" Wheels still spinin, iced out grill and tail lights.. chromed vavle caps, hahah hahha

I see both sides of the modding issue and yes,there are some dumb mods out there and this forum is open to all opinions as long as they fall within the rules.

I will give my opinion time to time whether somebody likes it or not but some of it is giving sound advice.

My friend wanted nerf bars on his Taco and I told him those might look ok on-road but do nothing off road so he went with real sliders instead thus the good advice before he bent one up.


I like simple tasteful and seeing that some thought went into a mod. Some people just buy everthing from the BLING section at Pep Boys and call it a day and I will mock those people since it's within the rules.

I do detest mods that put form over function like huge oversize wheels on a 4wd vehicle is just plain dumb since it harms every performance aspect of the truck. I even saw a ricey wing on the roof of a Jeep Wrangler!!!!!
Light up windshield nozzles are pretty stupid too and illegal.

I do have the ricey do-nothing Tacoma skid plate on my truck but it doesn't hurt anything and it's removed before I go off road and I do see real trails not just a dirt road.

There is nothing wrong with a few look-loo items and I do have chrome valve stem caps but they only cost a buck fifty so why not;I do want to look good in the city too.

I see nothing wrong with an exhaust tip but do spend your money on a good one since the cheapies will rust through in less than a year.

So Logans994Runner,what mods are you sporting? '99s are the best year.

my 4runner is pretty much stock except for a new head unit from alpine do to my stock one not working. my wheeler is a 89 Yota truck with the back end of the framed tubed ,sitting on 37's with coilovers in the rear running leafs up front, sporting dana 44's with ARB Air Lockers front and rear, meshing with a marlin crawler transfer case.

Rock Rails, Bead Locks on board air..

Tips change the sound!
I gaurantee a 4 inch tip (in width) will sound bigger than a 3 inch.
And a 18" deep flowmaster tip with sound deeper than a 12".

I wasnt sure if you were talking about me or not, but your post is 110% completly useless. This thread was started about an exhaust tip, and had absolutly nothing to do with 4wheeling. And as for the rest of your post, im lost???
