Yeah that is funny, I went to four different t dealers who says could not get me an ORP without the MTM system, all they had allocated had it. Finally found a 5th dealer who was able to get me what I want.

Go with KDSS. I traded my 2011 Trail in with KDSS issues for a 2020 ORP w/ KDSS and purchased $0 deductible extended warranty for 7 years at the end of 3 year standard warranty. KDSS issues will be addressed by Toyota now.

Disabled auto dim feature as they go back to high beam too soon on cars behind the lead car.

The fake leather is far superior to the storm cloth seats on the trail. Especially if you have a German Shepherd along for the ride.:reddance:

I decided against KDSS when buying, had heard far too many reports of it failing out of warranty. I didn't want the expense, and I sure didn't want the expense twice over.

Presumably the new Tacoma's front stabilizer bar disconnects will show up on the next-gen 4Runner as well. That seems like a better, less costly, less failure-prone way to get extra offroad front suspension travel.

With the way these absolutely refuse to depreciate, I'd go new. Plus, that's another couple years of KDSS being under factory warranty.

2014 with 336K miles. I don’t fear system fails with these vehicles so long as they do not have KDSS or XREAS. Extended warranty is a waste. Most experts will tell you the same.

2022+ LED headlights.

I've owned 2015. 2019 and now a 2022. I'd say 2022 has the better tech with the LED headlights and larger display. The only crappy thing about the 2022 is a poor quality rear camera system. They botched this. My 2015 and 2019 was more clear.

You've seen far too many reports of KDSS failures? where? I can recall maybe a few. XREAS has more complaints that I've seen here.

With KDSS you get better on-road handling AND better front and rear axle articulation while crawling on trails. It's not just a front sway bar disconnect.

But it IS another system that COULD have an issue. Having friends who still work as mechanics at Toyota dealers, and would see any common known issues, I wouldn't be worried about KDSS.
