Well they have the VIN number listed - I put it on the Toyota Owners website and it's got a dealer service history so it seems to have been well maintained. You should go peruse the records. But the last service documented was October 2011 at a dealer in New York. So since it's in Kansas now my guess would be that it was sold at auction. Not a terrible thing but that just means it spent it's whole life in NY. Definitely be thorough with the rust inspection.

Edit: should have read the first page where someone already mentioned that.

That's alright. I'm glad they provided that, because I missed it. The only thing that I notice, with the photos provided on the website, that bothers me is the wear to the front drivers seat. Again...anal, I know.
I like the seats, so I wouldn't want covers.

Thoughts on this 4runner? I know it's not an SE. I'd be open to a Limited if the price was right.

I did contact them and they stated that the title was clean and no salvage. They also sent several photos.
Only thing is, is I can't tell if it's black or blue.
 
Never mind. They did confirm that it's a dark blue. Not a color I'm interested in.
Just out of curiosity, what would this color be called?

I believe that's called Nautical Blue Metallic. Paint code 8S6. Here's a link to the different color options on the 4th gen 4Runners

It's actually not a bad color. It's a nice deep, dark blue. Just don't see them much around my part of the country.

No, you're right. It's not a bad color at all. Very pretty color just not what I'm looking for. Price seems right though.
 
Question about the Sport, for anyone who might know. 06-09, does it have the garage door programming feature near the rear view mirror?
My 07 SR5 doesn't have this feature but my 05 Sienna does. Not sure how they determined when these should be included in the 4runners.

my 03 limited has them maybe its in the limited and sport packages? i would think if my 03 has them an 07 should certainly have them unless they had issues with them not working or something

It was only standard on Limited's. It was optional on SR5's and Sports. The homelink buttons are actually not on the rear view mirror. They are in the overhead console where the sunroof controls and the two front lights are. The good news is that it's ridiculously easy to change that overhead console to the one that has the homelink buttons. My sport didn't have them when I bought it so I bought the console from conicelli online. I want to say it was about $90 after shipping. If you end up needing it just search the forums for "homelink" and you should be able to find some posts with the correct part numbers depending on what color interior you have and whether or not you have a sunroof. Took me all of 5 minutes to change mine.
 
Thank you! I knew it wasn't actually on the rear view mirror, just wasn't quite sure what that part was called. This helps. I've decided not to go with a limited. So chances of it coming with the Sport might be slim.
Something that I'd like to have though.

This isn't my thread but it's exactly what mine looks like - stone color and all.

What I wasn't expecting after I bought mine was the molding on either side of the sunroof switch. I think that's the change they made for 2009 and why the part was updated. Those pictures are good to show you how it holds in though. Those three white plastic pieces just slide in and the clips under the sunglasses holder are what pop in. You just pull down on the side with the sunglass holder to remove your existing one - disconnect the wire and then connect to the new one and slide it in. Really simple.
