also I've seen people paint that whole cross peice where the rear toyota symble is multiple colors orange, black, red, silver, gray etc..

If you lift it you can get bud built armor skids underneath the truck and paint those red.

As far as white cars go. I've only owned 4 cars. The first 2 silver the last 2 white, and aside from a 2nd 4th gen 4Runner Sport in Shadow Micah, I don't know that I could own another color. I love white! That's all me and my wife and in-laws will drive. She's sold on the black wheels as well. Like you said, the more she looks at mine, the more she wants them. Very low maintenance. That ugly brake dust (especially on the front rims) when dirty, is a non-issue.

Yeah, pretty sure it's all storm-troopers for me from here on out. People may say black wheels are played out... Well go back to chrome and aluminum then! Or better yet, do them some other ugly color. I'll stick to black.

Not sure I'm diggin' the rims lined in red. Maybe just the Toyota emblem. Do like the skid plate though.

PD, I'm the same. All of my cars have been either white or silver. My husband always steered me away from dark, even though I like dark, for the same reasons you mentioned.
So there again, I've never experienced it for myself. I've only heard that they show more dirt and tend to be hotter in the summer. Especially on days like today when it's 105 and humid.

Terri i was just wanting to show you theres a million options out there to make that truck of yours look anyway you want it to. I didnt even really like those rims lol. you can also add a TRD toyota racing development sticker on the side it has some red outlines. TRD OFF ROAD Decal Sticker

its all about being creative and the details, hell i thought i was happy with how my truck was then hang out with PD an see his interior LED's and his blacked out headlights in person then went to go buy some led's and paint haha. I want this sticker though to rag all my jeep buddies

Oh no no, dark colored paint on cars is horrible to keep clean. They show everything, dust,dirt, swirl marks. Around here we get really bad pollen seasons so the cars look yellow, but it's magnified on dark paint. I've had a black motorcycle and it wasn't too bad only for the fact that they're super easy to clean. But my family members with dark colored cars and from all the dark cars that I've washed and detailed (I've done a lot in my day), I know I'll never have the desire to own a dark car (again, save for the Shadow Micah 4R).

I was only speaking to these flat black wheels of mine.

If it's something that you'd like to experience yourself (owning a dark car), I can say that it'll make you appreciate what you had in a white one. Don't get me wrong, if you're diligent in upkeep, there isn't a color in the world that shines like black when it's clean. There also isn't a color that looks more crappy when it's dirty. Ya dig?

Got it! I am very anal about the way my 4runner looks. If I remember right, I got made fun of because I spent quite a long time making sure that I got every piece of dog hair out of the cargo area. I'd probably drive my husband crazy and end up in divorce if much time is spent buffing and I get swirls. He already gets irritated with the junk I'm doing now.

lol PD finds more **** than i do that man stays on craigslist and forums like white on rice haha. It took me a bit to get the swing of finding things for our trucks to. Theres not alot of vendors out there offering specifics for our trucks so we have to get creative and make or do things ourselfs like Gaterose's satashi grill mod. Toytec.com offers alot of accesorries, amazon.com also.

the best thing you can really do is look through other members builds and pictures and find what you like. When you see something just send them a friendly messege asking where they got it or how it works yada yada. Where all happy to talk about our own trucks and most of the time anyone here on the forum is more than willing to point you in the right directions. look through all the stickies at the top of the 4th gen forum also check out some of the offroading threads.

oh and i also spend 8 hours a day behind two computer monitors sourcing parts for all my equipment designs for my company so its easy to get lost over the internet I'll start out looking for spray rig companants end up looking for truck parts haha.

yep, all day other than ocassionlly being called to the fabrication shop to explain a drawing or a design as everything we do is custom and different. What kinda job has you behind these bright blinding dual monitors

I've had more white cars than any other color. Six total I think, but may be forgetting one. I swear they are the easiest to keep clean. I like anthracite colored wheels not black though.

Kind of a smoked grey color. That's what is called on Volvo wheels. My son just redid his in that color. Dark, but not so dark it looks black.

After I went back and reread my post... I should have said I like the red. I don't like those wheels. I'm highly attracted to the TRD wheels. I need to keep researching though.

they make this kit that u can put that red pinstripe on anything alot of hot roders like to put the stripe around the actual tire like a thin thin white wall but red and closer to the edge of the rim so you can add the red Taste in to whatever set of wheels you like or the ones you have. that's what I was trying to imply when I first mentioned it lol
