Looking to leave Pilot for 4Runner

Hi Guys:
I just bought a 2011 Pilot EX-L and I loved it wheb I test drove it.
However I dont like it as much now and the steering is very heavy and the seat steering arrangement is not comfortable. Its very roomy though. aligned it twice with new tires and it still likes to drift to right.

I went today and test drove a 2010 4rRunner. I loved how it drove. It drove higher and seat were comfy. the steering was soft and not hard at all.

It really drove like a truck and not wanna be truck.

I understand the 4Runner is a uni body and is a real SUV

anything I should watch for and what do you advise.
Any alignment issues or not driving straight with the 4 runner?

I think alignment issues are not specific to any vehicle, but 4Runners mostly run straight as far I know : ) And 4Runners are not unibody, they frame based like pickup trucks which means that 4Runners are stronger and they have a little bit less interior space.
Glad you liked 4Runner, I like it too way more than Pilot.

though mostly irrelevant, I drove my dads element for a bit. I used to love driving it but after having my 4runner and driving the element again, I hated it. stiff steering, solid suspension and lame real time 4wd.

do fifth gens still have selectable drive? (4x4 over just full time)

Limited has full time 4WD + 4L & 4H.
 
Yes pilot is UNIBODY
The unibody SUVs are not really suvs they are high cars.
The suspension is stiffer than a truck.
This is why I loved the 4runner test drive, seems smooth and steering has play in it.

what are the main differences between limited and SR5 other than leather and navigation. I know the tires are 20 inches, does that affect the smoothness of the ride.

Just going to start off by saying you are going to get heavily flamed for not using the Search up top next to your log in info, it's google but searches within the forum. Can guarantee 20 posts you will find off the bat.

With that said.

Navigation and leather can be had with the SR5 as well.
Trail can also have Navi, though not leather (from what I have read).

20" is a nice ride for city, a bit more firmer on turns.. Must change out stock doughnuts though.

You should really jot down what you want out of the truck and you'd get better responses.
 
SUV stands for sport utility vehicle, so body on frame was never a must! A good uni body design can also handle rough terrains.

I like the look and feel of the Pilot, I would say its a better looking Highlander, and just to let you know that my 4Runner is pulling to the right after 5000 miles, ppl keep telling me its the road crown but I still doubt that, I've seen ppl with the same problem here.
 
if its the road crown, have your right front wheel's caster set .5 degrees more positive than the left.

its not normal for any vehicle to pull. (just using these as an example) to say "the pilot is better because it doesn't pull" is like saying one car is better than the other because it doesn't have a flat tire.
 
Is the caster adjustable easily on the 5th generation 4Runners?
It's not adjustable on the pilots.

I think your post is odd. lol.

what's wrong with his posts? he's only responding to what myself or others have asked or stated in the thread.

edit: anyway, I haven't felt up a 5th gen yet so I don't know if it does, but it should by using eccentrics on the control arms.
