Loose shifter

Hey guys I'm wondering if anyone knows how to tighten my a/t shifter. It stays in gear fine but has a lot of play. Is there anything I can do that's minor. I'm not looking to replace it cuz I'd assume it would be expensive. Thanks in advance.

i have the same problem, but never got around to fixing it yet. I dont think its too bad. My brother was saying it should be easy, just take apart the covers and check for loose bolts, but then again, I haven't gotten around to doing it yet lol

When I first got my runner the key got stuck in the ignition and the Toyota dealer said it was because the car wasn't registering it was in park so they had to disable the key lock so I could get it out. I should of gotten it fixed but was quoted like 200 from dealer. Yikes
