Lose the fender trim?

I don't have flares so I'm thinking of taking off the chrome fender trim on my 4R, but can't decide what to do. Will it look too plain? What do you guys think? Has anyone else done this and how did it turn out? Post pics if you've got 'em.

My 4Runner came without flares and I thought it was way too bland.

I went out and bought some of the chrome trim things and sported it for 2 years. Looked much better with than without.

Just recently got myself some black 99 flares so I would say try for that!

But anyways, back to the topic. If you take them off carefully, just remember they can always go back on if YOU don't like the look without. ;-) Either way, You still have a slick looking Runner....except the chrome fenders.

Ahh I knew I've seen it somewhere before! Clever. And I didn't want to paint them because it would have been more work and time I didn't want to waste. I like the extend-a-flares though so I figured if I wanted new ones I'd buy and paint those instead.

I took mine off...I think it looks better...I don't like chrome.I painted my back bumper black.

I'd say take those off and put on the black skinny OEM flares. Those and the Bushwackers look the best IMO.
