Lost keys to 2006 4Runner

Over the years my mother gradually lost her keys and a couple weeks ago had a stroke due to covid and lost the last key. Thankfully she will recover .

There were 4 keys programmed and 4 keys lost. Does the dealer have to replace the transponder ECU? I was told that but think its inaccurate information . Any ideas?

Hope your mom makes a fast and full recovery. With the Vin a locksmith or the dealer can cut you a master key and programme it. I don't have a 4th gen. the following links might help.
