Lost my baby in a bad wreck today

Had just left Seminole floriday and made it an hour and a half. Truck ahead on highway stopped suddenly, I stopped suddenly, old guy behind me not so much. Sore but no apparent serious injuries.

My baby sacrificed it's self for us and did a good job. I'm looking for an 06 to maybe 11 now. If anyone in the Tampa area has one for sale I'll be here till tomorrow or Monday before I head back to Illinois.

If it weren't 1000 miles from home if haul it back. I'd really like to keep my powder coated FJ wheels. I'm pulling my switches and a couple other things. Took the lightbar off before we left because of wind noise.

I'm glad we didn't have a Prius or something like that. She kept us safe.

The guy that hit is claiming the truck in front of us hit the car in front of him then we hit the truck then he hit us. I couldn't see the car in front of him so I know he couldn't. And my airbags didn't go off but his did.

This was a bad day, but at least it didn't happen. When I was pulling the uhaul trailer down. Looked to see if there was one for sale down here but there aren't many and almost zero 4wd models. Hoping to find a blue or red one.

Thanks for the tip. Trying to decide if I want to spend a little more and get a 5th gen. I got a really good deal on mine so I hope I come out decent.

No one getting hurt always come first; glad that the case here.

That said, I would be so pissed if that happened to me... that and theft are my two primary concerns with my 4Runner.

My 2006 got totaled on christmas eve, rolled a few times.... (I wasn't driving) :crybaby: I am also in Florida and it took me 6 months to find a Limited 4WD and I had to have it shipped from Virginia. I just found a replacement and am having it shipped from Texas. Be careful with your insurance though, we had to fight with them for 3 weeks, they tried to offer like $12k (paid $17k 4 months prior, limited V8 4WD loaded w/navigation, etc.) and they were comparing it to the bare bones v6 SR5 claiming "it's the same car". We finally got them to take all the V6 off the comparison list and it raised it up a few grand but still. On top of all that the tow truck driver stole my purse and everything of value that was in the car, christmas presents, etc. :mad2:

Fight with them, my insurance adjuster said if you had proof of things you did to the truck then they would accept it. When they gave me the first offer I laughed at her and asked if she was joking. It took us 3 weeks to get a decent offer from them and that was after multiple higher up people got involved (and mine was all stock). I have Allstate and they e-mailed a list of the vehicles they were comparing it to and also the checklist with the options on mine (which they were missing a few) that's where I was like wtf. We told them that if it's the 'same car' as the v6 sr5 that we want to be reimbursed for the overpayment we made because the rates are not the same for the 2 cars.

Glad you're okay! I had a friend with a 4th Gen, and he loved my 5th Gen so much more than the one he had. I think it is worth it if you can afford the extra cost!
