Loud humming above 50mph coming from front/driver front. No vibration in wheel

have a loud humming at 50mph or above. I took her in to get an alignment after new tired and shop said lower ball joint is shot and would be of no use with an alignment. I have bad wear on inner side of driver front... thought that was the culprit. I changed the lower ball joint and loud hum still present. Changing outer tie rods and other LBJ next. I read a thread where universal joint was replaced. Is this my problem or shuld should I continue with tie rod and LBJ?

Im in the unknown at this point. Any help/tips appreciated.

EDIT: Forgot to mention as I make a turn left on bend in road above 50mph, noise is gone until I straighten wheels and bear striaght again.

LATE UPDATE: Paid for wheel bearing replacement on both front wheels and sound/vibration is non-existent. Sounds like a brand new vehicle. Thank you for advice and knowledge that got my T4R the service it needed without paying the shop to do any unnecessary added on bills. Much love.

So the noise is there even after new tires?

It could be the wheel bearing, shake the tire side to side while up in the air to check for play.

If you have any play in the U-Joints then they are bad. Just get down there and shake your drive shaft around. Could also be the bearings. If theres play when you grab the tire at the 12 and 6 and push up and down its likely the bearing.

You need a press for bearings. The u-joints are pretty easy. I had a shop quote me 360 for a front bearing. Its probably more expensive than smaller shops, but i like going somewhere that warranties their work and has national locations. Its saved me before.

Yes. Wore inner driver front tire more than other tires. Seemed to have gotten worse after new rubber installed. I know something is worn out, not sure what. I edited my original post about left turns on highway at speed where noise is gone until straightening out.

Checking play in bearing u-joints today. Will update then.

If the noise is going away when you make turns it is not your driveshaft, but almost definitely a wheel bearing. Turning places the inner and outer race of the bearing under tension and temporarily reduces the vibration.

I had this problem and i swore it was in the front. Against instinct i took her to a shop, paid 20$ and found it to be the rear driver wheel bearing.

Then i changed rear seals, brakes, and both bearings. It was expensive, but i should be good for another 237k miles.
Drove 600miles to central missouri and she's super quiet in the cab, fronts barely have any noise, likely tire wear.

If the front lbj was done, did you check the lower control arm bushings? You really need to take it out and check with screwdriver.

Sorry for late response. There is play in wheel and a little loose. Thank you for your comment. Now I just need somebody to do less than what Toyota will charge, $690. I have called some shops but have not gotten back to me. Hence why I asked dealership for quote. Oh well.

the fact that it changes when you go into 4H is a bad sign. but doesn't necessarily aim at the diff.

get the front bearings checked carefully. even if there is no slop, they can still be bad. get it up in the air, and run it in 4wd. then use a stethoscope(long handled screw driver will work in a pinch) and listen at the diff, and at the wheels when its running. you should be able to pinpoint which bearing is bad by the change in pitch and volume of the sound.

I feel that I shouldn't have to say it, but stay clear of the tires! you'll likely want it running 35mph+.
