Love me some clean carpet!

Had the 4Runner for a few months, and finally got around to some deep cleaning. Took the front seats out and went to town with a scrub brush, carpet cleaner, Folex Spot remover, and shop vac.

A few spots just were too stubborn but they are all in hidden spots.

Come do mine! the last owner spilled a bottle of pepto bismol in the rear passenger seat (dont ask me why it was opened in the car in the first place). and for the record, pepto stains. bad.

Tuff Stuff carpet cleaner is pretty legit...never found a stain it couldn't remove. Also smells nice!

Just be careful putting the seats back in. I found that the bolts cross-thread easily and then you've got problems. Ended up drilling and tapping one of mine to a standard size so I could use a stronger bolt. Managed to get the others back in again.

Totally agree on the Tuff Stuff! Works great and smells great

I used it on my carpet and headliner and the white rags were black by the time I was done

Since Pepto turns your poop black, I can only imagine what it does to carpet!

Nice job, I definitely need to do this, I've taken apart the cargo area and pulled the carpet out from there and pressure washed it. I just need to pull the seats and pull out the carpet up front and do the same it it. Probably time to disassemble my console area as well and detail all the coffee spills that seep from the cup holders back to where the shift linkage and ebrake cable go through the body.

youd be surprised how nasty that gets. I did it when i installed my radio and just the other day. I am very careful with my food/drinks and i felt disgusting once i popped open the console and went to work.

Thanks again, im happy with results but im still not 100% happy lol. The past two vehicles I had had perfect carpet and one was an 06 the other an 04.

I am an ocd clean freak when it comes to my vehicles.

If you are that OCD. Is it possible to buy an entire new carpet set from the dealer? Wonder how much it would cost for it. I was thinking about doing that. You should do it!

Will this cleaner work on the headliner material without damaging or staining it more?

Decided to strip rear interior after trip from beach. Going to rewire amp while I'm at it. Will also be replacing cargo carpet with rubber matting from the farm supply.......will post pictures later!
