Low fuel warning light not turning on

The other night I was trying to stretch it to get to my usual gas station and got down pretty low. According to the screen I had about 25 miles left in the tank. My low fuel light never kicked on. I know in the past it has worked because it usually turns on at just under 1/4 tank. I searched but it doesn't look like this is a common issue. Maybe the bulb is just out all of a sudden?

mine comes on between the 20-24 mile left on the gauge, which puts the needle sitting a needle line above the empty line.

Did you fill it up? How much gas did it take? In my experience, the low fuel light comes on when the tank gets down to about 3 gallons left.

That stupid trip computer is meaningless. If you want to use it as a guide of when you should be filling up, it's not a bad idea but don't think it bears any relationship to reality. I've driven mine when the trip computer said "0" more times than I can remember. :

Yea it took a little over 20 gallons. Sounds like maybe it just wasn't low enough...

I actually tried to stretch out a tank last week to see how close to the "miles left" the computer was. The needle was probably 2 needles above E, the trip computer said 23 miles left on my tank, and when I filled up it was just over 19.5 gals. No light. Definitely not an accurate reading, but it's a good baseline if you're in between gas stations on a long drive and it's 60 miles for your next gas station or you're stuck in traffic with "10" miles left on your tank on your way home from work.

Mine never came on

Range computer display said 21.
Ran out of gas.
Embarrassing.
Glad I had roadside assistance on my insurance.

There is a little orange light near the E. I try to never go below a 1/4 tank if I can help it, your fuel pump will thank you

I forgot to add this issue to my 15 year reliability report. I've had this issue for a few years now. I've been out of gas 3 times now. I now never go below 1/4 tank.

From what I've read and researched online. It could be a loose ground wire under the dash or a faulty sensor. In my case, I think its a loose ground wire somewhere, since I've been having issues with my subwoofer coming on and off intermittently.
