Low Inventory

4 months ago I ordered a '15 Trail Premium w/ KDSS in the Nautical Blue. Now I've noticed that the Toyota website says: "Due to Inventory Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) with options (Trail Premium) is not available with Nautical Blue Pearl." I called the dealer to see what they knew about it and if it affecting my order. Big surprise they knew absolutely nothing.

I live in St. Louis, decent size city, with half a dozen Toyota dealerships and none of them have had a new Trail Premium for months in any color or option - the nearest one that has any is over 100 miles away. Does anyone have any insight on what seems like a national low inventory problem with the Trail Premiums (there seems to be ~150 state side)?

BTW - When I ordered there was 5 in transit with the options I wanted to the region and the dealer didn't think it would be difficult to get one, however all of them were already spoken for. Now I'm sad. :Cry:

Normal, compared to the sr5 and limited they don't make many trail models, even fewer with KDSS. Just keep waiting and tell your dealer no changes. Many travel to purchase the exact model they want.

Not sure how far your willing to travel, but I jumped on a plane had the dealership pick me up at airport and drove my new TEP home.

here is the low down.

1. TE are rare, TEp are even worse
2. NB color is super rare across the board

1+2 = the proverbial pink unicorn

across the US :

NB across all models = 357

TE = 257
TE in NB = 26 which means there are less than 1 per state

edit 2 :

TEp = 166
TEp in NB = 13

Autotrader lists 17 Blue TEP's, 14 with KDSS, most in Texas. Hop in a plane and go get your truck!
