Lower Shock Mount

I have Bilstein 5125's on the back of my T4R, and not only can I NOT remove the top bolts at the moment, I now cannot remove the bottom eyelit from the mounting post. Driver Side only.

I have PB blasted it. I am even using a long crow bar and placing it between the axle housing and the eye mount and trying to use leverage. Its not even budging. I dont want to cut it off as these shocks newish in nature. (2 years old, but only 2k on them.) I had difficulties with the passenger side last weekend but got it off pretty easily after whippin out the crow bar.

i am going to try a puller of some sort tonight and see if that works, but if anyone has any input or NON DESTRUCTIVE ideas, please let me know.

Porta power kit, some times they help if you can get the attachment in there.

I have had this issue on every vehicle I have owned. I have always gotten it just beating the hell out of it with a tie rod puller.

Lower Shock Mount Removal.

Used a ball joint puller/separator.

Had to "cock" it a bit as the puller was just hair too big to grasp both sides of the lower eyelet evenly.

I maxed out the puller bolt threads but it finally worked its way off.

are you taking the lower shock off with the bolt already removed? or going over it?
all it takes is the "right" angle and it slides right off.

especially if you have pretty new rubber.

bolt was already off.. and this thing was not budging.
I was using a crow bar and screw drivers. it would not even move a cm.

And yes.. it was new rubber. very sad.
