lowering options

Hey all theres a build on this goin on right now... check my link for those of you intrested.. lowering an 06 runner..or just search it by my SN.

I am also looking to lower my 4x4 '97 4Runner SR5 a couple of inches.

It is a "Pavement Princess" - NEVER going off-road - not even on gravel roads!

My old '92 GMC one-ton (crew cab, long box) rides much better and has WAY better brakes, as well as getting better highway mileage (I'm looking at the Tundra brake upgrade for the 4R as we speak) but the one-ton is not 4X4, and is too big & clumsy for the (mostly) urban driving I do.

The 4R sits too high to make it convenient to jump in and out of, esp for my 5 foot tall wife.

I need 4X4 to go up the mountain hiways for skiing

I was looking for a SUV of about THAT size but maybe buying a 4R was a mistake. I wanted Toyota build quality, reliability and creature comforts, but this thing rides like the shox are welded up, it sits too high and, in general, it is NOT the vehicle I thot it was when I got it.

Are there any softer (and lower) springs & shox out there, or should I just "take it out & shoot it", and replace with a Blazer or similar?

I can get 1", 2" and 3" for 96-02, and same for 4th gens.

Drawbacks? Time. They are made to order from Japan, and I deal with the factory directly. They are pricy, but I can get them if you don't mind waiting 6-8 weeks aprox.

Any idea if the 4th gen springs will fit the 5th gen or do they make springs for the 5th gen?
Thanks

I can get these for you guys, but they are $$$. I imported quite a few sets of these, mainly in 2" drop sizes.

I have a 2006 SR5 two wheel drive with road magnet coils on it and lowered the front 3/4" and rear 1 1/4". Still looks good and handles better. Also have Bilstein shocks and hitch kiss sway bars on it.

lowering kit

I have my 2000 4runner and its a 2 wheel drive as well, and I want to lower it but could not find a full kit to do so. im with you on lowering it because why would I raise my 2 wheel drive it doesn't make sense and im not big on lowering cars trucks or suv but this would look sick leveled or lowered 2-4 inches. finding parts are going to have to be all found separate or taken in and do a full custom job.

I have several options to lower 3rd gens and 4th gens. For those still wanting to do this, Call/text me 717-319-2100
