Ltd Wheels 20" down to 17" can it be done?

I have bit of a situation were I dicided that I wanted to get some winter/aggresive tires. Where do I start? Well the obvious (to me) was the Toyota Dealler. The suggestion was to go to the Trail & SR5 size 265-70-70 made complete sense and was on the same lines of my thinking. Off I go and order 4 brand new tires from Treadwright called Guard Dog M/T C rated with Kedge Grip for winter traction. Pick-up the tires at a Fedex depot in the USA as my work took me to the area for 3 days. $650.00 taxes in & no duty. Life is great got some nice tires cheap, now lets put some $$$ in a nice set of wheels. XD series, Dick Cepek or maybe some Mickey Thompsons right!!! Oh so wrong, I've been told the LTD brakes & calipers have been up graded and do not fit in the 17" rims. WTF

Any suggestions other than the obvious like selling the tires, trading in for a TE or bying 20" tires

Running the 17" TRD's just fine on my 2010 LTD. No caliper change with any of the current models as far as I know... unless you did a caliper upgrade yourself to something aftermarket.

they will fit everywhere except Canada.

Jesse1983, Thanks for the reply, I'm pretty sure the US 4R is made to the same specs as the Canadian one (made in Japan) besides I called Dick Cepek head office in Ohio and they are the ones that told me I would not be able to use the 17" on the LTE they had no idea I was calling outside the US.

If anything, there should be extra space since up here we're metric, which of course makes everything bigger.

As others have already said, yes. Did it with my '13 LTD.
