The wheels look great!! I've been MIA on here for a few months now, but trying to catch back up. Your runner has changed quite a bit since last time I was on. Looks really good and those are some sweet rims.

finally had time to install my BAMF sliders. These things are beef and i love them.
Those look great. I can't decide which I like better...kick out or no kick out. Hopefully I never decide so I don't "have" to buy any.

I will say, it takes some getting used to getting in/out of the vehicle when i first got them. Since they progressively go out more towards the rear as is without the kickout i have to step over a bit. Which for me being so damn tall isnt a problem but i can see how it may be an issue for some.

So this weekend was fun but full of frustration. First off i was going down logging roads and hit some trail where there were a lot of obsticals so i went over those and then turning left i heard a very loud clicking and i can feel it in the floor. I figured i somehow blew up a CV axle or ruined something big by the noise.
I dont know if you can see that, but thats my slide pin sticking out and bent because it was tearing up the inside of my wheel.
I had to do some trail repair and take off my wheel and remove the pin and make sure nothing else was damaged. Meanwhile im 300 miles from home as well as 40 miles from any main highway.
*notice the beers, we were in a hurry as there have been many mountain lion and bear sightings in the area.
I got it out and put back on and went back to town gently. I bought a grade 8 bolt that fit and was perfect length, with lock washer and nylon nut. That was fixed.
Then we went to a rock quarry area and messed around, everything was great until my friend got really stuck
While trying to get him out i tried to lock in my CDL, well that apprently is stuck and didnt engage and made me freak out if i can even drive it home the next day. I tried everything to get it engaged and nothing worked so i risked it and drove back to camp.
I made it fine home but i've noticed its still flashing as well as when im idling, turning it almost comes to a complete stop. Today when i pulled into the driveway i heard the tires lock up and slide. Im going to Toyota tomorrow to see what the hell happened and how much this will cost as well as order new slide pins.
I also burned the shit out of my fingers on my lantern at camp, my change from Breakfast before all this was $6.66. I should have known.
What a weekend.

Sucks about the center diff lock, was that the first time you used it? Also probably wasn't a good impression to all your GM buddies that you broke down on such light trails. Hope you didn't post this on GMFS haha

Sorry to hear you had to go through all that while trying to enjoy yourself, especially since you where just running around on some easy stuff.
It's good to engage your cdl, 4wd- hi n lo, every now and then just to keep parts lubed and functional.

I honestly think i just tried to engage CDL wrong. 4LO worked great, then i went to engage CDL and wasnt moving and thats my fault. So hopefully it will engage once this is all done with.

My center diff lock engages/disengages while driving or sitting still. I've done both, maybe it's something simple like a sensor or encoder switch.

i think i took it out of 4lo and back to 4 hi for normal driving and it didnt work. I just dont like how its flashing, then when im fully cranked and idle speed it just locks the wheels up.

Same here, sit still or moving. Even while engaging 4hi or lo.
Mine does respond quickly though, maybe due to I cycle mine periodicly.

Update:
Just got back from the dealer. They are 90% sure its the actuator for the CDL that is faulty. Originally they found chewed vacuum lines which they replaced and then it still wasnt working so they did testing and narrowed it down to the actuator. So thats an $800 part, they cant get it to unlock so i can just drive it and not worry about it. I asked the service manager if they can goodwill it through toyota as ive worked there 2 years, bought two cars through them and gotten many services and parts through their store. Its a long shot, ultimately toyota's decision but im hoping for the best.
If that doesnt work im going to talk to the owner because i purchased it with an inspection on all 4wheel drive working parts and they tested it all while we did paperwork. Came back everything is 100% working order. Which obviously was a lie because in 09 on my toyota history it shows a wiring issue that was chewed through and they replaced. So at the same time the CDL vacuum lines were more than likely chewed.
Still a long shot but at this point im extremely agitated and disappointed with my purchase. I didnt even bring it home, i left it on the lot, refused to take it home.

Was that a typo or did you really say they youre going to drive it with the diff locked?

they couldnt get it unlocked so i could drive it normally and just not have the locking differential working. Sorry.
