lumbar support 'crunching'

Just an update...I got another phone call from the Toyota Customer Care and they told me that there is a TSB that will be released (soon--ish)...So hopefully this gets resolved.

That's nice because mine just started crunching.. nothing too bad, but I mainly notice it when re-positioning within the seat or leaning into the seat during fast(er) cornering.

Okki

thanks very much for posting the update. glad to hear there is a TSB forthcoming.

mine has the crunch plus the seat creaks intermittently when you shift your weight or take a corner, hit a bump, etc. it's either the seatback or the track and i've been delaying bringing it to the dealer for fear of their "experimenting" with it. you know how it goes when there isn't a clear plan/prescription for the problem. :ybrick: still have another year left on my warranty so i'm hopeful an official fix is determined and can be implemented well before then.

Quick update on my replacement seatback that I posted about on the previous page a couple of weeks ago. I've been to Sun Valley, ID and back from here in Portland, OR as well as to Sunriver, OR since the swap was made and my seat has yet to make a single squeak, creak or crunch. Problem solved (for me at least). I'm guessing I have what will be the TSB when and if it is released

make sure any of you that are having an issue, call Toyota(800-331-4331) and let them know you have an issue. They will document it. Go to your dealer and have them document that there is something wrong. I was told by the regional customer care manager that the TSB will cover the issue even if the vehicle is out of warranty. It is still best to call and be sure they are aware of any issues.
Just FYI, my dealer is ignorant and can't "replicate" the issue or states that it is normal for leather seats to sound like that. I told them they need to go to a quite place to duplicate the sound; I don't think they ever do.

On another side note--I also mentioned my headlight hazing to TCC and they told me there is no new headlight part number and no TSB. :( My dealer did stated that there is a haze and did document it--yea. They wanted to send me to one of those headlight resoring places :ybrick:. The TCC manager has been doing a great job of keeping me updated on the status of my issues :hatsoff:.

So, to conclude...call TCC with all your issues now! They actually do something--eventually.

was in for my second service and we mentioned it again but they act ignorant and blame it in the leather squeaking or the console ..sigh !!we really should make this a sticky so we can keep this at the top.. hopefully there isa tsb soon cause it drives me crazy !!! bump !!

There is a TSB, was released 3/1 - parts were ordered for mine...going in Tuesday for the 'fix'.

Mine's getting replaced today. Tried pressing for new headlights but they just polished them up, they look new now but im certain they'll go back to cloudy in a couple weeks.

I have not yet experienced the "cloudy" headlight lens issue. Probably due to the fact mine does not see sunlight much. But, let's say it does appear tomorrow. Will new ones NOT cloud up eventually? Are they made differently? Since I have seen MANY cloudy headlights from many different manufacturers and many "kits" to clean these up, I am wondering if getting new one's are really worth the effort? Thanks in advance for anybody's advice. Be Safe.

Just noted cloudy headlights this evening! With the garage lights on, I could make the silvery cloud like line on top of the headlight above the chrome trim. My T4R stays covered in the garage most of the time when not in use.

Yup, everyones got it practically. You can polish it out but it returns fairly quickly. Ive just learned to live with it.

Dropped it off at 9:30 and picked it up at 5pm, no more pop/crunch (yet)! One difference I did notice was how quiet it was (the lumbar motor). Previously I could hear it as I used it, now all I do it feel it move. With a job like this I like to let them have it for the full day. Knowing this is a fresh TSB I did not want them to feel like they have to rush through it, making a mistake, or not taking their time and doing the job properly. If it comes back I will let you know.

Just dropped by my local dealer, they looked at my vin# and ordered the parts and will replace it next Wednesday. They also said their detail shop would clean up the headlamps, gratis.

He said I had great timing since I have 35,657 on the odometer.

parts are ordered . my dealer here in B.C. said the Canadian tsb was released on the 16th or march .. finally no more fighting with the stealer !!
