You must have part-time 4wd. If so, don't put it in 4WD on dry pavement and it will stop "lurching".ooja3k said:it feels like it is getting hung up and then releasing avery second or so when traveling slowly around a corner, and i happend to be in 4x4 when parallel parking one time and it would not idle forward or back because it was getting hung up so i had to hit the gas to get it to move and even then it kinda jumped.
hope this definition helps of "lurch"
any ideas? is it just not wise to turn tighter in 4x4?

02sport said:earlier 3rd gens have a "part-time" system and should not be used on road (ie high traction surfaces) that lurching is the driveline binding- since wheels need to turn at diffent speeds when making turns. as said earlier, sand, snow, gravel, (ie off road) will allow the slippage needed for tight turns preventing binding .the newer models with the "multi'mode" system has a center diff which will allow for the needed "slippage" front to back and can be used on the highway. the earlier part-time ones shouldn't be used on road.
