Just bought myself my first old mans car. 2012 4Runner SR5 Premium

I hail from the great land of Nasioc, since my last vehicle was a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT ltd and before that preludeonline, 1998 Honda Prelude SH.

First time Toyota owner, but my Dad had a 1989 SR5 Tacoma, Blue extended cab with the cap. Damn great truck, and would still be on the road today if he didnt roll it.

She was my speedster.....I Dyno'd just shy of 300 AWHP and 300 AWTq....but alas my job was moved from 5 miles from my house to over 37 miles away....I was getting <200 miles to the 15gal tank.....hurt the pocket, so I parted her back to stock and drove her till she pretty much died. Traded in for the 4Runner

She was my sound loud, look good car.....peppy as all get out, but just not fast enough...hence the Subaru

I am 29, Father to three wonderful Dogs Mister, Grace, and Holley (as seen in the puppy apporved picture post 1). Husband to my Wife, Lindsay. We have been together for 3 years now, so still new to the marriage deal.
I am Active Duty Navy, stationed in Hampton Roads, VA. I am a Fire Controlman First Class, Currently at Naval Consolidated Brig Chesapeake. I have been on two ships, USS Vincennes (CG-49 Decomissioned) out of Yokosuka, Japan and USS Leyte Gulf (CG-55) out of Norfolk, VA. Done one tour boots on ground in Iraq for C-RAM operations and now am on my shore duty. I will be Transfering in June from Corrections to go back to my schools to get a new designator for my systems, and I will return to the Fleet in Early 2013 to the USS Sampson (DDG-102) out of San Diego, CA.

I am a homeowner here in Norfolk, and have had my ups and downs. Currently going through a huge remodel of the Kitchen (80% done) and the Half Bathroom (Demo'd, work starting soon!). We will be converting it to a Rental Property as it is great location in Norfolk and gives Lindsay and I a chance to put some more Equity in the property before we decide to sell. Which is still in the air as of yet.

Welcome to the 4Runner family! That is a great looking truck! The performance of your runner probably won't match that of the Subaru or Prelude. Just sayin...

Any modding plans? I bet the dogs love the new spacious cargo area!

Nice Subi;I have a friend with the same year as your's and is laying down 434awhp and while it is very quick it's nothing compared to his 645whp TT Supra.
The Prelude is a nice car and handles great for a fwd but defiently could use a 50hp bump.
I had a '93 Mitsu Eclipse GSX that ran low 12s at sea level and dynoed 340awhp on a simple turbo upgrade and fuel/exhaust mods.

My wife is selling her focus and we just test drove this yesterday but if we get this I might have to let my wife drive the 4Runner and I'll drive the STi.
It's an '11 with only 3900 miles and comes with the Cobb tuner and maps for higher octane fuel and all the other goodies associated with it.

If you do it, just remember gas is Premium on them...lol

the Cobb AP V2 doesn't have High Octane maps as its already running on Premium. You have OTS maps for stage 1 re-flash and stage 2.

Unless you are modding it, the Stage 1 is really all you need, but then again I don't remember what the parameters are set for, hence if you are in a high elevation. I don't know if the map is set for 0 sea lvl.

You can PROTune with the AP, but as for straight out of the box, thats all it will give you.

Yeah,this will be primarily the wife's car and my drag racing days are over so I'll be pretty happy with it as is and I'd never use anything less than premium in any turbo car. My Eclipse was fine with 91 but when I turned up the boost it really loved 101 octane.

*sigh* Diggin' the Prelude..... I had a '98 Lude when I was in nursing school and I had to give her up at the time to be a responsible grown-up and get through school. I can honestly say out of all the Hondas I've owned that the Prelude was my fave. I've actually toyed with the idea of picking up another one to play with. I had just gotten started on her... Greddy SP2 catback, Tein suspension... oh she was going to be SOOoooo beautiful!

The Runner is also my first SUV as well - the pearl white is beautiful! Welcome to the Runner Family!
