When I learned about how many breathers that are on our rides, I went in search of them.
Think there are 5. I would have to get under there myself to remember exactly what I did. I do believe there is 2 up in there. The one you lost was for the transfer case, the other one is mounted on a larger 6" hose for the trans it is held on with that ring mount on the bell housing.
Personally, I added longer hoses and brought mine to the top of the motor.

Edit... good that you went through the trouble to make this video, so others are aware of these breathers that are at a height to create damage to our drive trains.
I decided to add a little more so others are aware that there are a 2nd line to be aware of.

When your by the 2nd cat looking up there, you can see the metal line with hose and clamp, this is the trans breather. The smaller hose you see above it is the transfer breather line that you lost.



This is what i did to extend and never finished. 2 diffrent hose sizes.

Mine actually has a T fitting, connecting the transfer case and transmission using two shorter hoses of the same diameter AND a larger transmission breather. I assume to equalize pressures..

I've attached the toyota diagram showing this hose, in the red box.

See above. Mine was connected to both via T fitting and shorter tubes. And the larger one youre talking about... Weird that yalls aren't the same.

Correct, yes I do have the same "T" connector line like yours in the video and diagram and hooks into the rear side of the trans area. I do believe it is the transfer case breather. The 1st picture I showed is a metal tube line on the front of the trans, about 4-5" back from the bell housing.

A post came up a few yrs back that sent me on a search that revealed we have 5 breathers on these trucks. Of course the rear diff, and the front diff and I think actuator are the ones Toyota put up on the driver side above the exhaust manifold.

All I did was extend the 2 lines shown, was a pain and all scratched up doing so after I had to reach and feel to find both.

I keep wanting to get around to extending the breathers. But here in AZ that isnt that high on the priority list. It rained most of last week up north a bit, and my buddy went up there today to see if there was any mud. It was dry as a bone.
