Been on the hunt for a nice and still fairly cheap car for a while now. Stumbled across the 4runners on this group a few years back (before I even had a license) and was hooked :boink:
Finally found what seemed like the perfect one and moved quickly. Drove a few hours to check it out and ended up driving home in it that afternoon!

The replaced:
1992 Volvo Station Wagon - 208k miles

The day I brought it home

Kept it that way untill a few weeks ago, i couldn't hold it in anymore!
Thanks to how much i looked at the Lifted and Tires Section the fever finally took over. Still being in school, I dont have the same amount of money to spend as a lot of the guys with truly amazing 4runners on here so my mods have to be on the less pricey range for now!

Found some Plasti-Dip at Home Depot two weeks ago

Had to then add the Daystar 2.5/1.5 and find more things to plasti dip!
Coated the Front Grill leaving the emblem silver, the handles, and the hatch release on the back still leaving the emblem silver

Also wanted one of the T4r.org stickers so i found one online!

Ideally, Spidertrax/Allpros (not sure which yet, thoughts?) and tires will be in the future. Id love to say a shrockworks bumper but thats a little out of reach!:bash:

Also, on a side note, the loop that connects the key fob to a key ring has broken off so its pretty much been a pocket-carry item recently. The dealership says $50 but that seems a little crazy for some replacement plastic. Anyone know of any solutions?

You should be able to pick an extra faub up online for much cheaper and have someone else program it either for free or much cheaper than the stealership.

I'd consider doing the LED swap, interior/exterior, it's easy, fun to do, and well worth the time and effort. Plus, it's very functional and will last much longer than standard halogen bulbs will....and brighter!

There's a few sites, if I were you, I'd use one site to order all so you only pay for shipping once. I used V-LEDS.com or you can try superbrightleds.com
You can check JA's page for the full info on the swap and what lights go where or use the Sylvania/Osram site to get exact bulb numbers for your make/model.

Pasti dip holds up really well. Was expecting to need to apply over and over again but as I write this my family is on a college tour trip (about 500 miles into the trip) and I'm positive we've had some rock collisions on the wheels but they've taken no damage. Solid stuff for sure!

Handles were actually quite easy. Take a roll of 2 inch painters tape and wrap it around the outline of the handle. For the middle I just took a paper towel and folded it in half and stuck it through the handle opening. Honestly wish I had done it sooner!
