Magna Flow Exhaust Install

Hey T4R community. I'm new to the site, and I've got 4Runner questions. I'v got an '04 4Runner Limited V6 edition, and my tail pipe fell off my silencer. Needless to say, I thought this would be an awesome opportunity to upgrade my exhaust. I found a Magna Flow exhaust system which I paid about $600 for and I'm doing a self install. Any advice on what I'll need to make this install go smoothly? I must add, my old exhaust is rusted to crap. Upstate NY salt and glycol have not been kind to the underside of my truck. I'll take pictures and try to document the install as best as I can!

On another note....has anyone upgraded their brakes? I've replaced my front calipers and pads back in 2011 and new pads in the rear in Jan 2012. But my brakes still feel really soft. Any tips on how to adjust them to get the pedal stiffer?

There is no adjustment, sounds like your front brake pads are sticking in the calipers. Must clean and lubricate brakes once per year and in New England I would say twice per year.

damn that's expensive lol. Anyway... lots of lube... maybe a sawzall.

As for the brakes, I wouldn't be jumping to seized calipers quite so easily. check out your brake fluid, see if it needs a flush/bleed which it probably does. 4th gen master cylinders seem to seal pretty well though meaning they don't absorb quite as much moisture.

I skimmed through that thread. Sounds like he really got screwed. I bought the exhaust off autoanything.com Reviews were good! And I found on this site, that a few people used the Magna Flow exhaust, or the Borla dual exhaust. I went with this cause I liked the semi-stock look with the two tail pipes near the rear tire.

As for the calipers, I HATE the 4Runner front calipers! The design makes it impossible to take them off, without risking having to get new ones. My last pair were from Mieneke, and when I took it apart, the piston was stuck. I'd hate to take it apart again, and find that I need to replace it. But I will try to bleed the brake line to see if that works.
