i've tried running a search for the upper plennum torque sequence and i can't find one anywhere. anyone know the sequence or have a diagram?

Probly went thru the same process as you, browsed thru my 90 4runner shop manual and found torque values but could not find a sequence chart, perhaps another member can provide the information?

Not an authority but if there's no sequence chart I usually start at the center and crisscross working outward, and I don't torque to spec's the first go around; rather, follow the same process 2-3 times. Same with inline bolt pattern working from center outward from front to back?

yea, i just went with a cross pattern, its only 4 main bolts and 2 side bolts.
