Maintenance and Repairs on 200k+ 4runner?

Does anyone keep a maintenance and repair log on their 4runner with more than 200k? If so, what does it look like?

Think this is pretty excessive for a 200k+ 4runner?

Overall, it seems to be in pretty good shape now. No more CEL's or problems as far as I can tell.

Haven't really kept a log of maintenance but ours had 198k miles when we bought it, and since then we have replaced the battery, fluids, filters, wheels, u-joints (We auctually did 3 mountain passes on the bad u-joints and bad ball joints lol), and lower ball joints (because of ball joint failure) and its been good since. The cel only comes on every now and then but usually goes off after a couple trips.

However, the truck dies once in a while in the winter and has high idle (1500 rpms) in the summer, but I think its just the coolant tempature sensor. But other than that its been a good tough truck with now 216k miles on it.

Here is mine so far. Note, most of the repairs were done right after I got the vehicle last February @ 230K miles because of lack of service history. I was basically unsure if they were ever replaced/serviced... Everything I removed turned out to be OEM so I'm assuming it was NEVER done:

Air filter replaced (OEM)

Oil change (Mobile Super High Mileage @231K, 234K, 237K)
Replaced original radiator with Koyorad 1998A
Replaced radiator cap (OEM)
Replaced coolant (Toyota 50/50)
Replaced Thermostat (OEM) and gasket (Felpro) - jiggle valve @ 6pm 190F
Transmission fluid drain and refill (4 quarts OEM ATF @230K, 235K)
New 265/75R16 A/T tires - balanced on hunter machine, alignment (lifetime) (Tires Plus)
Replaced passenger fog light bulb with Hella H3 55W
231mm Tundra brake upgrade (Callahan kit - calipers, pads, rotors)
Bled front brakes 1 x 32oz Castrol Dot4 Synth brake fluid

Install inline B&M Transmission cooler (post radiator)
5-Tire Rotation @ 237K miles (5K on tires)
Installed 1.5" Daystar spacer on left rear coil to compensate for taco lean

I'm at 280 but my list is a lot longer.

I replace stuff just cuz though. If I'm taking it apart, I usually replace everything just for peace of mind

Abbreviated list: all OEM except where noted

All of the front suspension and steering. (Rack, tre's, ball joints, bushings) All OEM except upper control arms
Pads, rotors
Plugs, wires
Timing belt
Water pump

Everything in the rear axle (bearings, seals, brakes, etc)
Front axles
Front diff axle seals

New syncros and bearings in transmission
New clutch

New door seals

New evap vsv's

Multiple fluid changes. Multiple air filters

Not at all. Looks like standard maintenance on a used vehicle. Be happy its not anything serious !!

You should throw on lower ball joints and a tranny cooler as part of your list. Those are a must for any used 4Runner.

I just took the owner's manual (which was never used) and added 190k miles to the intervals when I bought it. Take this with a grain of salt though.

There's obviously some non-maintenance items I had to repair, such as the steering rack and ball joints. But as far as fluids go and other regular items I just follow the manual.

Everything which is mostly maintenance is in my 'build' thread and also in a folder in the file cabinet. It's all the usual suspects including but not limited to-

plugs/wires/pcv/iac cleaning/etc
fluids for the everything,
greasing driveshaft/u-joints,
a variety of small switch and other repairs,
radiator (because cracked tank, have m/t)
all the suspension bits/ball joints/lower control arm bushings and rear control arms tie-rods, r&p, sway bar links and all related bushings
brakes w/tbu
parking brake cable
clutch/throwout bearing
all the filters and added one for the p/s
shifter bushings
clutch
o2 sensors
cat/muffler
cv boots
timing belts (doing 3rd one in the next week or so)
water pumps (2nd as maintenance)
antenna mast/parts within the motor
valve cover gaskets
starter contacts
t-stat as maintenance....
the list kinda goes on for awhile.....

Like AxleIke I replace stuff a little before as needed for piece of mind or just because or I'm in there anyway as well as wheeling takes its toll too.

I'd rather repair than replace and like to tear stuff apart and at just under 290,000 it's been reliable and fun to mess with. I want to keep it that way.

My maintenance and repairs log is a little booklet in the truck. I also log fill ups...

That list looks short and easy. All minor stuff.

I've done a TON more than that in the last 15k miles or so (now around 275k miles) - though I'm making up for ~5 years/40k miles of neglect by my sister while she owned it (bought new by my Dad in '99). Also, doing a 4WD drivetrain swap adds to the list. Fluids, ball joints, timing belts stuff, valve cover gaskets, radiator, etc. All normal after that many miles.
