Maintenance light problem

I've got a 06 v8 4WD and I had my oil change at 122k. I just when on a 800 mile trip and while I was on the way back(around 124,500 mile) the Maint light came on. I check my oil and the oil level it good. I did notice one of my head light bulbs was out so I replaced it. Check all fluid level and everything is up to par. The light is still on. Any suggestions? Thanks

It just means that the truck thinks that it's been 5000 miles since the last oil change. The person that changed the oil forgot to reset it. It means nothing. Keep driving.

You just need to take it to the dealership and have them reset the maintenance warning light, that's all.

Shhhh!!! Let them believe they have to go to the dealer so I can hook up my super secret fancy scantool that will clear the maintenance light while making a giant "needs to be worked on" repair list for me to make money on!

IF THIS WAS A CEL then personally I think this was a mistake.

IF you are just referring to the 5,000 mile maintenance reminder then ignore below.

You had a service light. You don't know what it was or the code. You reset it and now you won't know until it comes back, perhaps at a bad time.

Do you have a cell phone? (YES) Go on Amazon.com and buy an "OBD2 Blue Tooth Reader" for $29 then download a phone app for reading OBD2 codes. On Android it is the Torque app.

This way you can read the code, come back to T4R and put it in the search window.
