Been looking for the manual tranny/tcase shifter dust cover and cant find one. I have the rubber boot but no cover. I went to the Yota dealership parts counter and they cant even get any. Anyone know of after market or have an extra layin around? Thanks!!!
It would be an easy install, if I recall correctly. However, I chose to have an upholstery shop install it for about 20 bucks. If you were to do it yourself, I believe you would simply remove the few screws that hold the bottom plate to the high density foam (that the leather wraps around); apply spray adhesive to the new cover; tack down; re-fasten the plastic bottom with the screws.
Again, I chose to have an upholstery shop do it because the spray adhesive would probably cost me 10 bucks, plus I just wanted to make sure it was done right. I will try to post before and after photos when I get home (I am out-of-town right now). All in all, the cover was a worthwhile investment.
