Thanks all! I saw others on the forum here that debadged and definitely fell in love with the clean look. I am not a huge fan of the font Toyota chose for the lettering plus the miss-matching of the "TOYOTA" on the hatch and the rest of the badges.
As far as letting everyone know I have a V8, I am split on this. I was thinking I wanted to place a V8 emblem on the back where "4RUNNER" once was. But then I thought, "Why advertise you have a V8 when I can just show them by leaving them in the dust!"
Anyway, next up is my Borla Dual exhaust that I just ordered from Tad at Courtesy Toyota. It should be here later next week. Shipping anything to Hawaii is a pain but I could get it from him so much cheaper than anyone on island or the internet could even get close to including the outrageous shipping!

Looks good. I'm keeping my badges on because I don't really mind them.
One thing I keep thinking about, though, is the Hawaii safety inspection sticker on the rear bumper. I've noticed that some dealers (mostly Nissan and Infiniti) are placing the stickers on a metal plate that's bolted to the bumper, rather than sticking them to the bumper itself.
It's a minor mod, but I've seen at least one 4Runner with the safety sticker plate and it makes the rear bumper look "cleaner."

I like the clean look of de-badged vehicles, but in my materialistic way, I do like people to know I am riding in a Limited V8... so much that I added the Limited and V8 badges to the rear of my truck 
Our Canadian trucks don't come with as much bading though, we don't get 4WD on the sides because Toyota doesn't offer the 2WD versions here.

I tried to get the people at the processing center to put my inspection stickers on a metal bracket that goes next to the license plate. I found out when I got down there to give it to them that it is illegal. I am thinking about doing it anyway but not sure about removing them now that they are on the bumper. I'm not sure if they are the type of sticker that is made to rip easily. Maybe another day with the hair dryer will tell.qs933 said:

I Googled a bit on this topic and found the following:
Hawaii DOT administrative rules for inpection stickers
and this Kokua Line column in the Star Bulletin.
Bottom line, it looks like the rules do not require you to place it on a bumper. However, if a police officer determines that the metal plate somehow obscures the license plate and/or feels that it's not "in vicinity of the right rear bumper," then you could be cited.
I was thinking mounting the metal plate to the bottom of the rear bumper, but it kind of depends on whether the old sticker comes of cleanly and without any obvious fading.

Moved Inspection Sticker
Well, I finally decided to move the inspection sticker and didn't use a bracket. The place I chose might be a little more inconspicuous but I thought it would look better centered rather than hanging off the side of the license plate. I put it on the flat part right above the hitch receiver. They came off really easy by getting them pretty hot with a hair dryer then just peeled them. I didn't add any extra adhesive when I reapplied them.

I debadged two Saturdays ago and absolutely love the clean look. Car peeps will know what your driving anyway and will appreciate the clean look.
