Goes from my positive battery terminal to starter, all in part of the Big 3 Upgrade. I need hide it, I just haven't gotten to it yet as I was rushed putting it in

Quaker State Advanced Durability. Nothing special, been using it on both 4Runners since owning them and so far so good. Yourself?

Thanks man, have a few more things to come but it's becoming a well rounded vehicle.

In other news, my 7 year old battery gave out so I put a new one in. Starter was giving me some trouble today so I should have a new one in in the next day or so. Have a few more things I plan on getting done with before the end of my winter break.

Got around to installing my sub. I went with a Rockford Fosgate 8" Dual 2-Ohm Punch Series Subwoofer and a Boss Audio Riot 2400-Watt Monoblock, Class D 1 to 8 Ohm Stable Monoblock Amplifier. From my understanding, a class D amplifier was needed because I mounted it in a space with little to no air to cool itself. Install went well, I left plenty of speaker wire out as I'm going to be building some storage areas in the near future and the sub will be moving around.

Having starting issues. Replaced contacts and plunger in starter, had starter tested. Passed in voltage test, current test, and drive extension. 4Runner still won't start. Any suggestions on where to go next? All connections to and from battery look good. Having the battery tested shortly

So some time last week, December 26, I was at a bike park about an hour or so away and I was fixing to come home when I went to start the car and my dash lights and radio turned on, I heard a click then nothing. Naturally I thought it was the starter and I was able to start it. I drove it straight home, parked it, and its been dead since today. In between then, I pulled the starter replaced the contacts and plunger, and still nothing. I pulled it again, had it tested, checked the battery, checked some wiring, and scratched my head a lot. I gave up after 6 days of trying to figure it out as I knew at this point it was something stupid that I had just over looked in frustration. It was towed to the gentleman's house who did my engine swap and sure enough, loose negative battery terminal and ground. I think the battery terminal was from me doing the starter but that was his findings. While the 4Runner was at his house, he went ahead and did my valve cover gaskets. It was also dropped off tonight for inspection.
Out with the old and in with the new starter contacts and plunger. I also had the chance to clean up some of the grime and build up on the starter.

Failed inspection for clear corners, exhaust being cut under the vehicle, and rear axle seals. Have 13 days left to get it done so rear axle seals are the main priority. Corner lights will be easy, I'll just steal them from the 99 for a few days, and I'll get an extension welded on to the end of my exhaust

Wow, they're pretty tough on you. I'm so glad I don't have inspection here where I live. Thanks for posting the starter part numbers. There will come a day, I'm sure, when I'll need those.

I'm a little surprised on them getting me for the clear corners and exhaust. I've passed in previous years with the corners and I hadn't thought anything of the exhaust. I am happy they pointed out the rear axle seals because with it being winter, I wouldn't have noticed for some time.

If you do the starter and need anymore part numbers, this will help. My local Toyota Dealer was nice enough to print it out for me when I was ordering parts from them. It's a pretty straight forward job, I found it easiest for me to remove the sway bar and put it out in that route versus what I found in other threads.

Edit: Thank you for the recommendation on the Daystar grommet. I noticed leaking after one good rain and I've been good ever since popping one of those in.

A picture for the heck of it. They were both full of sand, no surprise there, and the driver side was pretty contaminated due to the axle seal being pretty shot. Both are cleaned out now and ready to go.

I've been doing a lot of maintenance related things recently and I'm just about finished with all of that. We should have nice weather next weekend so I'll be doing some more fun stuff to the 4Runner.

Hey Matt. I would double check about those clear corners as an inspection fail. Are your bulbs amber? If not, all you would need to do is buy a set.

Switching them out isn't a big deal, just find it a little petty but what can ya do.
Need to get a meet up with some local guys once it starts warming up! I've met a few here and there and I think it'd be cool to put some faces to some 4Runners.

Is yours officially up and running 100%?
