Hopefully insurance comes back good for you. If you can I'd try and find a fender already painted and swap them, but I know that'll be hard with your color. The flare you can probably paint your self or have a cheaper shop paint it because the color match won't matter too much since the flares aren't touching like the limited flares. The door you can probably get by with some touch up and rubbing compound as long as it didn't get bent or anything.

If you do all that yourself that should some extra cash from insurance. Maybe this is a good time to do the TBU. Make sure the insurance quote includes absolutely everything. Might want to mention that the accident could have stressed/fatigued the UCA ball joint, LBJ, ITRE, OTRE, basically all the suspension components on that side when you get the quote done and if the fender liner is torn/ripped anywhere make sure that's included.

It might not be a bad idea to replace all the wheel studs on that side also, they might be stretched/fatigued now.

Hopefully this turns into a positive situation and you can get something good out of it for the truck.

Pretty bummed about the whole situation. Don't know who would steal lug nuts but whats done is done. Lesson learned about letting others borrow the 4Runner. Also a reminder to do a quick, 30 second inspection before taking a drive.

After a quick inspection this afternoon, the suspension components look to have held up fine. No leaking from the coilover, UCA still articulated fine, and the LBJ looks okay.

Luckily, insurance is covering it. I have aftermarket coverage as well so I should be in the clear. I'll be dropping it off sometime this week to get an insurance quote done and I'll likely do the work myself (minus fender paint). The only thing that worries me is perfect fitment on the fender.

I've already sourced a fender locally but it does have the limited cadding. Not a big deal, I'll just look for a SR5 fender down the road. I rattle canned my fenders too so I'm not worried about paint matching. The door has some scratches but I'll give it a good wax to see how much of the scuffing I can get rid of.

I am concerned with the wheel not wanting to take a balance as the inside is pretty eaten up but I have an extra set of 5 stars sitting at the house with new lug nuts. I'll talk to whomever gives the quote about all new wheel studs on all corners. If I'm doing one wheel, I feel as I should do them all.

I am going to try and get the TBU out of this. The rotor is toast and I'd hate to put money into a new rotor that I won't have for long anyways. My steering rack is leaking on the driver side too so hopefully I can get insurance to cover that as well.

I'm waiting on some recommendations of local shops and I'll be taking it in this week. I'd really like to get this behind me sooner rather than later.

Went out of town this weekend to visit my girlfriend at school and borrowed my mom's car as she gets much better MPGs than me. My brothers car was also out getting an inspection done so naturally, he drove mine. He drove it out to our school apartment Friday night and back home Sunday afternoon. In that day and a half, apparently someone stole 4 lug nuts off the driverside front wheel. My brother drove the 4Runner and the wheel came off. There's some body damage, a sheered lug nut stud, and damage to the wheel, rotor, and dust shield. No one was hurt, no one else was involved, and the air bags didn't deploy. The outcome could've been much worse. Decided to file insurance to make sure everything is done correctly.

You sure someone didn't just forget to tq the lug nuts? Was any work done lately? I only ask because why would someone steel lug nuts? Or did you cheat on your girlfriend?

Most recent work done was an alignment and front diff fluid, both of which don't remove your front tire. Before that, CVs on March 7th, of which was done over 3,500 miles ago and I've been on a 3 day long wheeling trip and multiple
road trips since. I was the last one to take the wheel off over a month ago and I don't think it would just fail now after the abuse they've been put through.

The path the 4Runner drove before the wheel coming off has been gone over 3 times and no lug nuts to be found.

I don't know who would steal lug nuts or why and I don't think I've pissed anyone off too badly lately.

Whoever stole your lug nuts definetly gets the Greasy-Taint award for April. I honestly didn't think there was anyone more shameless than the shitbird who stole my windshield wipers — guess I was wrong.

I was actually out of town the whole time so I can only relay what my brother told me. He hasn't driven it before so he didn't have anything to compare it too and it seems like he just assumed there was shaking cause it's a lifted, heavy vehicle. He said everything felt off from the moment he started driving, especially when making left turns or switching lanes. I wish he would've called and asked right away but he didnt, instead he drove it.

Things certainly could've been worse and my brothers pretty shaken up. I do think some pretty serious legal charges could be brought but I'll likely never know who or why. Damage is relatively minor for what could've come and the airbags didn't deploy. Likely just a fender, misc. parts, and some paint, and I'm hoping you can't tell what happened.

Hey Dave, Happy Easter!

Met with insurance last week and they are covering the damages. Luckily, I have no deductible since no other vehicles were involved. With the insurance money, I will be doing the following.
OEM steering rack with ITRs
Tundra brake upgrade with OEM shims, pads, and rotors. NAPA calipers.
Paint and body
New wheel studs
5 Star wheels

I have an extra set of 5 stars sitting on the side of the house so I'll be painting them and putting them on. The one wheel is pretty beat up and I'm not thinking it's going to take a balance. The 5 stars will also clear the TBU while the LC wheels won't.

I think I still may have some money to play around with after that and I plan on putting it into the 4Runner. Waiting to get paint/body work done and parts purchased to see how much more I have to play with

Are you running wheel spacers? 231mm TBU or 199mm?

According to this thread and a few users, the TBU calipers rub the LC wheels.

Fender Mounted

Got the fender mounted yesterday along with some other things. The body lines look good and I'm surprised with how easily everything went on. I've been running around getting some quotes on paint and I'm hoping to get it done once the insurance money comes in.
I'm a bit up in the air about flare color. I may paint the flares and rockers with some color matched bed line.

Scan Gauge and Auto Dimming Mirror

After the last wheeling trip, I figured I should start monitoring my temperatures. I have yet to get a transmission cooler and I was a little nervous at a few points during the trip. I'd also like to monitor a few other things so it was time for a Scan Gauge.
I also took a recent trip to the local Pick-N-Pull and got an auto-dimming mirror with compass. One of the guys I was with had one and so I figured, why not. Happy with the overall size of the mirror as it is bigger, plus the auto-dimming and compass features will be nice to have.

Scan gauge looks good. I didn't realize that mirror wasn't OEM. Mine has what appears to be the same exact mirror.

Hmm, I guess so. I have been running 1.25" spidertrax since before the TBU.
