max lift?

hi guys, im new here. anyways. i was wondering wat is the maximum lift i could get for my 05 4x4. is it possible to do a 3" revtek, 2" roger brown bl, 3" donahoe coils and ome rear? would all that combined give me 8"? or would the 3" revtek with the 3" donahoe coils and ome rear be pointless? thx in advance! im hoping to fit 35" tires so....any other options? i noticed there isnt very many options for the 4th gen when it comes to lifting...

Max Lift in this combination:
1.5" Body Lift via Roger Brown
3" Front Suspension Lift (your choice from Revtek, Daystar, Cornfed, Donahoe, Downey, OME, SAW)
3" Rear Suspension Lift (Revtek, Daystar, Cornfed, Downey, OME)

35's will be slim to nill on fitment unless you plan CHOP (literally CHOP) a lot off. (notice how I no longer state trim as this is a bit much for the average owner)

33's to be safe and make it offroad worthy.

wow max lift of 4.5'? what about the nitrous enterprises 4" plus 1.5bl? 5.5" max? is any company like fabtech etc planning on a 6" susension lift in the future?

There is a reason why you won't see any other reputable vendor make anything over 3.5". Do your homework and you will learn. Like I said in my original post, search away and you'll find plenty of information here.

I recommend OME's all the way around if you have the $ to spend on a quality suspension lift. They're great and come at a reasonable price! They're easy to install and works for years! If you need more lift, just add the 1.5" Roger Brown.

Don't buy inferior crap. You'll just end up regretting it later because you're spending TWICE

Btw, If you want to fit 285's (either 16/17) just trim the areas that rub and call it a day. The Body Lift will help minimize the rubbing though but not everyone likes em so that's a preference call.

you can fit 35-40's if you want. just don't expect it to be any bolt on affair.

if you do a sac (solid axle conversion) in the front and ditch the IFS (independent front suspension) then the budget is your limit. w/ a sac, you'll be able to get the largest tire possible because you'll be redoing everything

if you're not looking for that then you're kinda suck w/ what you have been offered.

btw, getting larger tire is one thing, driving it and causing undue stress on the other existing stock components is another. w/ larger tires, you'll run into more problems (steering, gears, tranny etc etc). If you're prepared for upgrading everything else that comes w/ larger tires then you're ready else, you're not.

it's gonna be $$$ to add large tires one way or another.

btw these vehicles does VERY well w/ 285's on the trail so there's really no need to go that much bigger unless you're going to be doing some crazy stuff.

It's not impossible, and a kit could come along someday that would enable you to fix 35's, but it is highly unlikely. Companies like Fabtek and Skyjacker make kits for Fords / Chevy / Dodge for a reason (there are tons of them). There simply is not much market for those mass producing companies to make a 6" lift for a 4runner. Truthfully, most of those 6" lifts perform like crap anyway. Having 3" lift from something like OME, Donahoe, or Camburg will give you a much better performer than those 6" lifted F-150's driving around. Like Lance (Good Times) mentioned, 4.5 inches of lift plus a good set of 33's will enable you to do a LOT of things. Fourwheeler magazing took the Lexus version through the rubicon with 3" of lift and 33's and Lance has pictures of his trip to Moab on his picture site. I have taken my everywhere in Anza-Borrego desert in California.

i like the SAS idea on a 4th gen!!! but since you prob. dont have 10k to drop into the suspension of your truck, just spend about 500$ and get the bottom covered by some good skidplates, spend another 300 and get some sliders and you dont need to be that tall, besides, the taller you are the quicker you roll, unless you make your truck wider in the process....
