Maybe I'm out of touch with current pricing, but does this look right?

So, I was at the Toyota dealer last week, working out my cracked dashboard issue. While I was there, I went ahead and checked out the 2016 Tacomas. Much to my SHOCK, they had one, ON SALE?!?! for $48,998.00!?! Like I said in the title, maybe I am out of touch with current pricing, but $49k for a mid-sized V6 pickup truck? And for that to be their "SPECIAL RED TAG" price? Good grief!

We we're looking at getting one but we decided we're going to wait till the hype has died down a bit. They are selling for MSRP and TruCar states a good price is $1000 over MSRP, no thanks I'm not paying full price just to have the latest and greatest. Awesome truck though.

The dealers around here will add a Pro Comp lift, big wheels and tires and add $20K to the sticker price of a Tundra.

I will be willing to bet this truck has a list of over priced dealer add ons, as the Tacomas here are listed with the normal sticker price

Looking at the tires (spaced), I'd guess there might be some suspension work/lift happening with this one. Or just spacers and a fabulous markup :suspicious:

For the record, I did, indeed look at the suspension and wheels. It had a cheap-looking Pro Comp suspension (no aftermarket UCA's) and some Pro Comp wheels and Pro Comp Radial A/T's. Still, $49k?? Only a wealthy idiot with a spoiled rotten teen would ever fall for the "RED STICKER" pricing. Unbelievable when considering that you can purchase a 4Runner, or even a loaded Tundra for less. Then again, here is that wealthy idiot out there.

Oh, I agree...this is true. My favorite is $100 N2 filled tires or the $600 wax job
