So I have a axe and shovel I would like to mount inside or out as long as it's lockable on the outside. What do you use? Also what kind of antenna's are you guys using for ham radios? I have a Kenwood 710 mounted inside but no antenna yet.

You could use any of the roof cargo boxes for the axe and shovel. They are lockable. I have a Yakima cargo box, but Thule also makes them.

Just be aware that the OEM cross bars are too close to the roof to mount many of the cargo boxes, so you would need after market cross bars, also available from Thule or Yakima.

For the inside of the 4Runner? I've seen some pics of them mounted on the inside of the rear hatch and or by the rear quarter window.
