McLean Creek "ripped to shreds"

So here is what happened at one of the local Off-road vehicle areas over that long weekend. This also happened last year at another Off-road vehicle area which has since been closed.

I heard on the news this morning that there were even cars torched there over the weekend.

Last year there were 20 pick up truck loads of garbage that was picked up after the long weekend.

Soon there will be no where for anyone to go wheeling because of the idiots that show up and break every law they can over the weekend.

Does this happen everywhere? Its embarrassing being from the same area as the trashy people who were responsible for the mayhem at Mclean creek.

I think Im going to volunteer and go help clean the trails up.

I wouldn't say that happens everywhere. When we go up Swamp Trail which is a long loop through the Central Sierras (California), it's kind of an unwritten law that if you see some trash along the trail, you pull over and pick it up. A lot of guys do this.

Last time I went, I found only one beer can to clean up. The guys ahead of us found a few things as we saw them stop once in a while, just to get out and pick something up.

Yeah, that sounds a bit more civilized than what went on at McLean Creek over the weekend, mind you, this was probably only a small percentage of the people who were acting like animals because supposidly there were about 5000 people there over the long weekend and alot of people did clean up after themselves but there are always those people who have to go an ruin it for everyone else by tearing up private property not staying on the trails and leaving all of their garbage behind.

Yeah, that sounds a bit more civilized than what went on at McLean Creek over the weekend, mind you, this was probably only a small percentage of the people .....

I think it's almost always a few irresponsible people that ruin things for the rest of us.
