I had a few small surface scratches on my new 12 LE, I must say I was very impressed with the product. The scratches were only on the surface and did not go down to the metal, but I would recommend this product for surface scratches.

I just realized that I should have posted this in the "Detailing" forum, so I am sorry moderators.

Hmm OK I believe you, so what do you guys use?

I use a combination scratch remover, wax, polish. but eventually everything comes back (this is my first and last black vehicle)

You need to use my "10/30" rule! Can't see it from 10 feet away or at 30 mph? Does not exist then.

I feel bad for saying this, but I let my 4Runner go in terms of visual upkeep. A few years back I use to frequent the auto detailing forums and found a bunch of information over there. From what I remember paint correction was a multiple step process. It was along the lines of a pre-wash, clay, wash again, polish with a Porter Cable or a Flex machine (polishing had multiple stages depending on the severity of the swirls), then choosing your preferred wax. That was just for the paint, you also had wheel cleaners, tire cleaners and then the whole interior to tackle.

As for scratches that caught on your fingernail, I think it involved wetsanding and doing a bunch of other stuff to it.

It was fun to have a clean and shiny vehicle, but it was too labor intensive. Now I just wash the 4Runner at the touch free car wash (no brushes etc) and just vacuum the dirt out.
