I have a 97 Toyota 4runner 4wd. Bought it about 3 months ago in essentially perfect condition besides the rotors being bad. A week ago I replaced the rotors and pads, and now the last couple days when I hit the brake I hear a metal clanking noise. Its hard to describe but it sounds like a hammer hitting a rotor and its just the drivers side. A mechanic told me its probably a loose caliper bolt and he tightened them for me and its still making the noise. I only hear it when braking and its just one clank not repeated clanking and pretty much everytime I first hit the brake. Ive read hundreds of different explanations and I know its hard without actually hearing it but I thought maybe someone has encountered this and could help. Its an older car but its in great shape and Im anal about my vehicle and don't want it to turn into a larger issue. Thanks for any help in advance.
