Metal Tech ever do OPOR Slider discount?

I'm in... I had decided to wait on this upgrade, but up to a 20% discount is too good to pass up.
Same question the dimple plates... three of the pics on the group buy page show plates at the rear, but the 4th pic (orange "Evolved" vehicle) and the Metaltech web site doesn't have the rear plate. I do want this plate. [EDIT: more looking at the web site, and the SR5 pics have the rear plate but the Trail pics do not]
Second, more personal question: I have a 2011 with SR5 trim. If I am willing to cut the rocker trim, will the Trail version fit? If so it would add a few more inches clearance. As is the OEM running boards are always the first thing to hit. See my avatar pic... I compare it to a long dress on a woman, pretty, but always dragging on the ground. My girl is about to get longer legs (lift/level), and she would rock in a new miniskirt... but if it won't fit then it won't fit.

I got mine back in April. I asked the same question about the dimple plates. You get the front and rear dimple plates. This was to simplify the ordering process due to people ordering ones with just front, or just rear plates. This is the last I heard, and front and rear plates are what I got.

I ordered my with no group buy last summer. Oh well... I still love my.
Get them powdercoating. I had terrible luck with DIY paint. I spent days scrubbing the mill scale off and thought I got it all. In the end 5 cans of high end epoxy rattle can paint didn't stick and I just dropped the sliders off at a local powder coater to have them powder coated for $175...
Save yourself the hassle and let Metaltech take care of the powder coating.
I wish I got front and rear dimple die. At the time it was rear only for me with no options.

i got mine on sale a cpl years ago but i haven't seen one in awhile
EDIT: saw the GB..
to the guy who painted his and ended up sending it off to get powder coated..
Step1. wait for low humidity day (important)
step2. rub down with acetone to clean anything off the bare metal.
step3. sand and repeat acetone.
step4. primer
step5. paint
step6. 2nd coat of paint. (i used duplicolor bedliner spray) and 2 yrs later, it's still on there. only spots i had to re-coat are the scrapes and marks from off-roading which is expected

my buddy and I are thinking about each ordering a set of these, but he sent me this thread last night. does anyone know if metal tech or OPOR have redesigned the mounting plates to prevent the bending?

I saw that thread before I ordered. Everyone's situation is different. One, I wanted a step bar first and foremost. Two, I don't even own a hi-lift jack. So I was looking at NFab's bar. But then, I'm the kind of person that would "rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it." I don't plan on doing any rock crawling or serious off roading, but if I ever find myself in that situation, the OPOR sliders can offer me some protection. My main reason for buying the OPOR sliders, steps and protection from door dings. Lol.
If you fall in the category of a serious offroader, you really should be looking at the MT sliders, the bud built "beefy", shockworks, etc anyway.
The OPOR sliders fit my needs and budget better. That's my 2 cents.

Thanks for posting that. I hate to kill the buzz on a group buy I'm part of, but do these seriously only have two asymmetrical bolts per connection point? If so, of course they're going to flex up!
On the other hand... even if they do bend up and contact the rocker, they still would work to distribute the load across the entire rocker panel to prevent any damage.
I'll also say that the pics on the web site show a slightly different connection than the pics in the other thread. Maybe they've fixed it.
Either way, I'll probably still order. If my inner engineer complains too much I can reinforce them on my next trip home when I have access to a weld shop.
Speaking of inner engineer, as a structural engineer I can say that if you can lay out the plate such that the lower bolt is centered under the arm you will greatly increase the strength.
