Just picked up my Metal Tech Sliders with 2-Stage Rub Rail. Sorry for the un-installed teaser pics, I will install them tomorrow and get pics up ASAP.

Pretty sweet. If I'd known they made sliders too I would've totally copped some. Post pics once they're installed! :bigok:

Yea, not sure when they will be released to buy, but they have measurements for the TE with and without KDSS.
 
Sweet photos - I love the look of both the trucks.

Every time I see the Walker Evans wheels and the grille on the Metal Tech 4Runner I spontaniously start to drool.

I may need to make a trip down to Portland....
 
Not sure on the weight, but they are not as heavy as they look. The main portion of the slider is their "gull wing" design that is hollow on the inside. However, it is very strong since it is well reinforced. As far as welding them on, I am sure you could since they are just flat plates against the frame. Metal Tech could probably answer better though.
 
Definitely look forward to seeing how these look and review after you off-road with them. Are they powder coated? (seem rhetorical but I thought I'd ask). If they're the same price as the FJ version ($650) they may be something I'd consider over the budbuilts since I could just drive down and pick them up, which makes them less expensive since I don't have to incur shipping costs (which puts the BBs at about $900 after powder coat and the trip from NC to WA).
 
Pics after install as promised. Yes, the sliders were powder coated. You will have to contact Metal Tech to check availability and price on the sliders.

We are very close to releasing the Metal Tech version and the Outpost Off Road as well. We have to do a slight re-design on the bolt on gusset for the KDSS and we just recently had an SR5 in so there will be two different version for those that that want the TE or SR5/Limited.
 
Looks great! Any trouble getting it around the KDSS lines? Also I noticed you had not installed the front mud flaps, was it due to lack of clearance between the sliders or you didn't have them on to begin with?

I had just put in the driver side BB sliders and getting it around the KDSS lines was not fun at all!

Not sure yet, we still have to figure out the cost on the sliders. It will most likely be what the FJC is at $650 which includes powder coating.

Hey LT,
Are you guys doing bolt on gussets on all corners? With the LE there are the XREAS hard lines; you have to bend those out unless you get bolt on gussets all around. This is not something you have to take into account on the SR5.

I ran into that problem with my SW sliders. It can be worked around but would be nicer if the bolt-on gussets allow a channel along the plates that connect to the frame that the line can run through (i.e. slide the connecting plate between the frame and the plate and have the gusset go over the line.

The SW slider has bolt on gussets in the rear, but not in the front (at least not on mine).

Ah okay. The last limited I looked at I knew there was stuff on the driver side but wasn't sure on the passenger side. Guess we will need to bring in a limited to see if our sliders will work. Currently the TE with KDSS we have a bolt on gusset in the rear and in the front it wasn't an issue but that might be different with the limited.
