Metal tech stage 2 lift - med or heavy?

So I'm pretty sure Im going to go with the metal tech stage 2 lift for the rear. I was going to go with Billy 5160 and superflex but everyone seemed to rave about MT springs so why not match the shock designed for them? I'm going w Billy 6112s in the front tho.

So called MT today and they were recommending going w the heavy spring even tho I won't have any added weight. He said they may even be discontinuing the med springs.

Anyone running heavy Springs w no extra weight?

Thoughts?

Thanks! Ijust read thru the entire thread. i'm sitting at toyota dealership getting recall things done (dash, brake, floormat).

medium is the goto rated spring for anyone with out a rear bumper and tire carrier and a crap load of other things. i run the mediums and carry 3-400lbs of stuff in the rear usually and dont have any sag and the ride is great. when i tow i usually only get 3/4 - 1" of squat with a 400-500lb tongue weight

Call the folks at Metal Tech. Tell them what you plan to do with your 4runner.

They deal with a lot of customers and tend to make the proper recommendations.

If you are towing or hauling heavy loads they will recommend the heavier springs. I do a lot of towing, so i got the heavy springs based off of their recommendation. So far so good.

I'd recommend the heavies if you plan on putting any type of weight in the back of your runner. I have the heavies with around 200lb in the back of mine and I kinda wish they made just a hair stiffer spring!
