Hey everyone i came from the 3rd gen section owned one for about 2 years then decided to get rid of it and get a 1st gen to be a more dedicated crawler

bone stock with over 300k on rebuild motor at 260k

Do you want it that tall?! IMO you should put some shackle tubes in the frame up front, take a leaf out the front packs and ditch the rear blocks to bring it down.

Nice axle choice! Curious to see what else you do to it.

x2, I would lower that at least two inches and cut and tub to fit the 36s. Start
by ditching the blocks, a 3" block will lead to lots of axle wrap.

I liked your 3rd gen, I'm looking forward to this build!

thanks my plan was to use the frame tubes for the frnt shackle but the guy i order from took 2 weeks to send it to me so when i cut of my rear hanger i used that unstead for no will change to frame tubes later

yes its a bit tall but i think it looks good plus i want to run bigger tires later thinking of 37s maybe 38s but i do under stand the center of gravity but i just dont like a crawler that looks like it has big tires and no lift its just me and i dont like cutting of anything lol but i am going to try wheeling with this set up and if i dont like it ill ditch the block and a couple leafs.
and yes i am thinking about an exo cage in the future hoefully soon

So this is how my build started
Originally i bought a IFS width Rock assault housing with six shooters to build for my sas

But then came across a steal deal on a complete front diamond axle and rear ifs rear axle

diamond axle:
529
lock right locker
long fields
six shooters
high steer
square drive shaft
extended braided brake line


rear axle:
529
elocker and harness with inchworm skid
extended brake line

so i sold the rock assault housing for my money back

longs from diamond vs 30s from rock assault vs drive shaft lol

thanks man yea im loving the the set up for wheeling but have to admit i miss my ifs 3rd gen the comfort power and 4doors lol we need to hit up the trail soon

ok so ive been laggin on the updates on the build so here we go

as i was waiting on my frame tubes for the frnt i went ahead an did my 63s in the rear with the dual shackle and elocker axle swap

getting the 63s mockd up and the elocker housing lined up

i added a 2x3 tube block on bottom of my frame to gain a little lift and anticipating to not run any blocks and
i use the stock rear shackle with a pair of auto zone 7'' lower shackle for chevys trucks for the dual shackle set up

Finally done with the rear just need to weld on top shock mounts going with the triangular set up

ok so i got fed up with waiting on my frame tubes an decided to just use my stock rear shackle hangers for the front (changed it out a week later when the tubes finaly came in) i mounted the hangers a little far forward anyways lol

got the front hanger and shackle hanger mounted with springs and axle on

also moved the steering box straight as far forward as possible without cutting the front body panel

heres a late update on the runner

Picked up a lightly used inchworm dual case set up with 23 spline output shaft so i had to take my stock tcase 21 spline shaft and replace it in the dual case set up to match it with my tranny

now measuring and cutting the extra slot for the rear case in the cab i just used a angle grinder to cut out the sqaure

getting the ratchet strap ready to hold the tranny/dual case up while we try to line it up to bolt it on

got it up and mounted plus front driveline

Did you do anything to make sure the double shackle doesn't invert on it self?

Looks like it will unload pretty easily...

thanks man and hell yea im loveing my diamond axle and the inworm dual case makes wheeling easy and fun i actually finish the build a while ago im just tryna to do a time line of the build i guess but i did take it out couple of time to the Rubicon an Fordyce already ill try and see if i got some of the vids left ill post them if i do

yes i did i actually went and swap that stock shackle i had on there with tg 5'' shackle and welded a stopper to keep it from inverting from full droop

[MENTION=69539]Hyde802[/MENTION] havent went wheeling lately but i will soon as i do and the shock is still good just bent i wheeled it the whole day after that

But heres what i did to the runner
moved the axle 1'' forward to try and eliminate rubbing in the front but i think i might still need to cut a little and eventually lower it another 1'' just been lazy lol
