hi all, been creeping around for a while and finally joined a few weeks back, thought it was time to post up the rig that brought me searching and spending time on yet ANOTHER online forum
I have found these websites to be a wealth of info in the past here is hoping this one is the same way
so far less drama then tacomaworld, and thats nice!!
anyways.... This is what the lady friend and I just replaced our aging civic with a few weeks back, 1995 second gen SR5 limited auto v6 3.slooo
she has 174k on her with the head gaskets and timing belt done in the last ten k miles, got TWO through inspections before i brought her home, its a bit of a project, but not so much that I do not feel bad about it as a DD for the wifie
the civic just didnt cut it up here in north idaho in the winter, and last year when we moved into a cabin in the woods three miles off the closest paved road .... well needless to say we know that we needed help, we made it through the winter with a beater with a heater 91 chev blazer POS the heater worked and the 4x4 work and not much else, we sold it this spring and have been on the search ever since.
the runner is going in for new rear brakes, rear axel seals, fix the leaking front diff seal , and a front wheel bearing this up coming week, still on the list is fix the leaking in take gaskets, a new power stearing pump and many other small odds and ends
out the door I grabbed it for 2300 and that included three sets of rims and tires, she is a bit tired, but i think with some time and money we can get in into good shape!
looking forward to learning how to do some of the wrenching my self, since I am too scared to even try on my 2012 taco.

the only " mod" so far is a bumper sticker I slapped on there the day i brought it home from the company I work for teaching Wilderness medicine classes
